Too bad a "Not Guilty" verdict couldn't be handed out automatically even before this goes to a grand jury or before any DA can file. Thank God this happened in Texas, anywhere else and the dad would already be in jail on murder one.

My reaction would have been the same as the dad's. If he cannot claim temporary insanity over witnessing what was happening to his daughter and his reaction to it, then there is definitely something wrong with the court system.

I read about this. The story I read (HuffPost) made it clear that the dad wasn't intending to kill the POS. That part was accidental. So this is where the Conservative in me comes out and hopes that the Grand Jury will give him a clean bill and let him slide.

He shouldn't get convicted....was just self defense, technically. Children can't defend themselves so he was defending his daughter. He didn't beat the guy with the intent to kill, he's stated that, it just happened and he feels remorse. He was doing what any father would do...and the world is cheering him on right now, so I'd be surprised to see this guy charged.

Ya know, he might just have a decent chance in all of this. People have killed their children's attackers before, and walked. Sometimes it's difficult for a court to get jurors to convict in situations like this. Sometimes prosecutors won't even try, for fear of their future political careers.

Lets hope.

Many years ago, a man premeditated the murder of his sons molester, and shot him in the head, in a crowded airport, while he was being escorted by police.......he didn't serve a day, and the prosocutor didn't even try, because she/he said, plain and simple, no jury would convict him.
