As a Canadian let me be the first to apologize for Skins US.
After all, it was filmed here with Canadian actors.
Skins UK is by far much better.
There is no need to devote a TV channel to nothing but music videos anymore. It isn't 1995 anymore it's 2011, ever hear of something called the Internet? Why devote a whole channel to music videos when you can go on Youtube and find any single music video in the click of a mouse. :dunno:
:1orglaugh
I thank you for your apology. You're off the hook. :1orglaugh
Honestly though, I've only seen a few of the UK episodes, as my niece is quite the Anglophile, however just in what I saw recapped on Yahoo of the US version had me questioning whether the writing team knew their audience was American.
"I need some really good narcotics"
Who in the blue fuck refers to drugs that way?
That argument can be applied to approximately 99.9% of modern television. That's not really a reason to stop what they're named for.

What has the majority of the shows on MTV to do with music?
When was the last time you watched MTV?
Nobody would watch MTV if all they showed were music videos, times change. Like I said in an earlier post, that's why we have the internet and sites like YouTube where you can literally find any music video from any times period at the click of a mouse. It's sort of like using a encyclopedia these days for a research report. Why use an encyclopedia when you can get on the web and get the same information quicker and in more detail
Then don't watch it. Some of these shows are broadcast on cable late at night around 9 or 10 and they warn you at the beginning of the show that it might contain graphic nature or whatnot by giving the show's TV rating.
like i said, the channel is poison.
it influences young people to be stupid idiots.
that's it's main goal.
that's not geezer talk, that's the obvious truth.
Any responsible parent would block the channel.
My sister for example was super phony yuppie woman.
i remember her kids , twins , when they were like 8 years old always watching mtv.
I told her this isn't good for them, its gonna turn them into idiots, they should be watching cartoons or the simpsons or something worthwhile.
or outside playing.
she told me cartoons were too violent and the simpsons are a bad influence.
well the kids are now typical 13 year olds with a celphone in their hands 24/7 and very materialistic and spoiled.
funny though, my sister is that way too, she's a typical 13 year old.
this is what mtv's goal is, turn people into mindless consumers and its worked just great.
easy there, chucky.
so according to you, they only play garbage from 9 or 10pm? guess again, spunky. their reign for terror goes on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Exactly. & adults should really keep their noses out of programmes aimed at da kidz. Adults rarely have little understanding of how da kidz react to these shows, apart from the obvious cliche that their own children are such idiots that they will blindly copy whatever stoopid thing they see on the tellybox. If that is the case then its the parents fault, for either badly raising their kids or having dumb thick as pig shit genes which their unfortunate progeny have inherited.I said some of these shows like Skins are broadcast at 9 or 10 at night on cable. So if anyone has any objections to that show then you don't have to watch it, nobody is forcing you to watch it. An earlier poster got it right by saying that we need to remember that these shows are for entertainment, they aren't a depiction of reality. If everything on TV was based on reality it would be incredibly boring
