You need to teach them some of your time management skills LadyLove. They handled the clock terribly at the end of that game.

When you hear Gibbs 'reasons' in a around the barn kinda way it made sense. I however do subscribe to the point A to point B philosophy myself. So I found myself poo pooing his ' around the barn ' journey. :dunno: I hope we do turn it back around though.

Well Lovie made it official, and just announced at his press conference that Griese will start for the Bears on Sunday.

Why does being a Chicago sports fan have to be so painful?

Well, Grossman is terrible. ..but still.. I don't see any improvement in Griese?

I'd kinda like to see Grossman play at least one half against the Lions and then decide to bring in Griese if necessary. Like last year when Grossman was coming under fire, they threatened him with that move and he played somewhat better in the first half against the Rams, and he ended up keeping his job.

Ah screw it. He sucked in the Super Bowl. He had his chance.

I know, that's what I'm talking about. It's going to be painful on Sunday, and all the injuries too! Aaaargh!!!!!!

But yeah, Rex had his chance. 6 ints, 1 td. It's Griese time! LOL

Griese! Griese! Griese!

they certainly have the opportunity. the nfc is so weak, that the bucs are a contender right now. :D

just like in baseball, how did one conference, or league, get so strong and the other got so weak?

when it comes to bears qb's, not even brett favre himself will be comforting. :1orglaugh

griese was ten times the qb that grossman is. now hes got to be at least twice the qb grossman is. :D

If it wasn't so sad, it'd almost be funny. No wait, it is funny..>> Heres the new Bears QB depth chart:

1. Griese
2. Grossman
3. Orton

4. Chris Leak (Who the hell signed this guy? Another Florida Qb? Are you kidding me?)

Now thats funny!

Yeah! Bring back the neck beard!

Yeah, Grossman missed his chance to be Trent Dilfer.

At least in baseball you can blame it on payroll discrepancy. With football I think in a lot of way the AFC has always been better on average. It just didn't look like it because the NFC always had a couple of good team that could dominate in the past like the 49ers and Cowboys that let the NFC win all those superbowls in a row.

With Grossman you could just tell from a long time ago that it wasn't going to work out. I like Lovie as a coach and I respect the fact the staff sticks up for their guy, but one of his only flaws was the fact they took it to the point of hurting the team. Grossman is the type of person if you could give him 12 seconds back there every play he would look great. Of course so would every other quarterback in that situation. With him though the slightest thing goes wrong and you have to potential for blooper reel footage on almost every play like that from him. It was like Madden said in the Sunday night game. With somebody like Romo back there if some lineman or linebacker comes though quickly at least he can move around, not panic, and the play still has a chance. With Grossman in that type of situation you can forget about it. I won't miss the WTF fumbles from him or the "where the hell are you throwing it" plays either.

The Bears don't have a lot of good options at quarterback. This might sound strange but later on in the year if their season looks to be more or less loss I think I would put Orton back in. Grossman is not going to work out now almost no matter what. Greese isn't a long-term answer and is getting old. At least with Orton maybe he can still improve enough to be a decent backup when we draft a new one. Luckily the next draft class looks stronger than normal at the position. Hopefully the Bears can pick up a decent one to develop before their defense starts to go downhill. Then again this is the Bears and when have they ever made a good decision as far as quarterbacks where concerned? I also wonder if they will bring in Leftwitch at some point.

As a one time resident of LA, and a long ago fan of the Rams, it's great to see Georgia Frontiere's team totally suck :D

:1orglaugh

I think they modeled the owner in "Major League" after that bitch

I loved the Rams when I was a kid. The Fearsome Foursome, Dick Bass, Jack Snow, Dave Elmendorf. Of course, every winter like clockwork they'd go belly up on the frozen tundra at Minnesota, Green Bay or Baltimore. Let's face it, guys with names like Roman Gabriel just weren't born to play in snowdrifts and freezing rain :1orglaugh

although you'd think jack snow would have been lol

ah, you grew up in the golden age for the rams. night train lane man. he still is the model of a good corner.

now now, j.t.'s dad was never good. :D

I read about Duce getting hurt in New Orleans. It looks like it's about that time for Reggie Bush to finally show the potential some people claim he has or for him to finally get exposed. So far he hasn't looked like a "one in a generation" type of talent.

Has anybody noticed the Steelers quietly going 3-0. As a monstrous Steelers fan I will point out a couple facts.

They beat Buffalo, Cleveland, and San Fran, not exactly powerhouses. I do feel however that they are the 3rd best team in the AFC and I can't wait to see them tested by some real competition.
