Suppertime! Suppertime! Hey Fellas, What'd You Have For Supper Tonight?

Tried another one of those Rao's Homemade frozen entrees: chicken alfredo. Was very good! Had it with a freshly opened bottle of Kendal Jackson Vintner's Reserve Chardonnay, and again did the apple / PB thing for "dessert."

(The Rao's Homemade frozen entrees have been on sale the past few weeks. Cost the same / a little cheaper than Lean Cuisines, so I thought I'd give them a try.)

Tonight we went to World Famous Pink's Hot Dogs off the corner of Beverly and Melrose. As classic as it gets even if not too classy. I had Drew Barrymore's "Drew's News" which is a foot long jalapeno dog with chili, cheese, onions, and 3 slices of bacon. After eating this amazing hot dog I wondered, "Is this hot dog for Drew Barrymore or Drew Carey?" Sure was good.

Today is Valentine's Day and I took my wife to a nice neighborhood Italian spot named Carmine's. This is the place you take your Italian Grandmother too, not Olive Garden. Great food, wine, and service. Perfect.

I went to a game dinner. There was Italian wedding soup, made with venison meatballs and dove. There were jalapeno poppers wrapped in bacon, stuffed with dove. Roast duck breast. a homemade selection of smokey's and such made with duck, and venison, Breaded deep fried walleye and crappie, and a creation my buddy made, called "Shotgun Shell's He took a manicotti shell, stuffed it with venison sausage and cheese, and let it sit in the fridge for a day or 2, so the liquid softened the uncooked pasta, then he wrapped in in bacon, and coated it with homemade BBQ sauce. They were amazing. Lots of beer, and shots. I lost about $25 playing cards. So not a wash, I could have lost more. It was a great night. I haven't seen most of these guys for a year..

You need pics to accompany your posts in this thread. That sounds delicious.

Thanks. I'm not very good with a camera but this is basically what it is. My mother in law is the best Filipino cook ever. I go to house parties and the other ladies kiss her butt and beg her to make stuff. I'm usually the only non-Filipino and all the ladies ask me how their food is. I say it's good but I don't tell them I get that dish better at home.

Basically beef and onions with a sauce made out of soy sauce and sour stuffs. Served with rice, of course.

That looks good.

Went out for Sunday Family Dinner. My sister-in-law had never been to this place before. I asked her, "Have you ever gone to a place that had mediocre food but you always have a good time there so you keep coming back?" I don't think she got the picture but I was too close to the cashier at the time to repeat it or explain it. We went to Sizzler. I get the 8 Oz Sirloin with Malibu Chicken. The rest of the pack are Filipinos who are really good at stealing food. My wife and mother-in-law raided the salad bar and started feeding us and taking other stuff home. The staff at Sizzler doesn't care and supplied us with all the take-out boxes we asked for. Another good time at Sizzler.
