Scored large with pastrami. Hard to get since Morty's closed down. Rossi's only has it on Fridays but I rolled the dice for 1 1/2 lb on Saturday. Girl behind the counter tells me that it's fatty so they cut the price for me.

Extra fat and cut the price? Double bonus. Life is good.

We're having the rest of our New Years day pork roast, in the form of pulled pork. Found a local sauce called "Pig's Ass BBQ sauce". You HAVE TO buy it, with that name! We'll just have some cole slaw, and chips to round it out.

If there's any bone left of that pork roast, you better make a pea soup from it. I don't have to give you the recipe, you already know it.

No, we do the boneless for New Years. I would use the bone for sauce....ham hocks, or ham bone for pea soup.

Set out to make white clam sauce, but realized that I didn't have enough juice (I only had 1 can of clams) so I decided to go with a red clam sauce. I felt like it didn't have enough substance and since I didn't have any other seafood to incorporate or anchovies to add for flavor I threw in some sardines. Made some spaghetti and steamed some broccoli. I enjoyed it.

Great food day today topped off by a delicious supper. Went over to The Great Western Steak & Hoagie Company in Venice over on Lincoln Bl & Superba Ave. Had the #9 Cheesesteak with grilled onions, green peppers, and mushrooms. The bread is soft, chewy, and flavorful and the meat is meaty good. Heck yeah!

Apollo, that's not a bad thing. You enjoyed that. Good for you. It's your tongue and tummy. For a few weeks I've taken off from cooking. Good local food at a price that is enough to keep me satisfied. Y'all know how I like to cook but at some time I need to take a break.

Spaghetti with meatballs, couple cheese burgers, steamed broccoli and carrots, root beer float and something else. I cannot remember...

Now I'm about to go make some cream of mushroom soup and watch a movie.

I didn't think it was a bad thing, I just feel like the ingredients could've been more cohesive. It certainly wasn't bad, I finished it within 3 days.

Good local (and cheap) food is difficult to find in my area; by that I mean that there's a lot of franchises that I have no interest in frequenting and there are only so many mom-and-pop stores to keep me interested. I probably sound a bit snobby, don't I?

Chili dogs, vegetable souo, and baked potato. Salad to keep me healthy lol
