Star Wars Vs Star Trek

The aged old argument......Who would pawn whos ass and why? Yea I love both but I am a real trek man if I was really honest but somehow the star wars nerds have cobbled up a whole mish mash of techno babble and reasoning for why Star Wars would win.

Even though we see X-wings fighters doing death star trench runs then pretty much blowing that sucker up with like 2 torpedoes......And the really shit accuracy which is so bad....And also that guy who always rams star destroyers yet makes it to a bacta bath to recover for yet again another kamikaze run......Star Wars is superior:dunno:

Truth is they would only win because Han Solo hot wired the latest Enterprise ermm Enterprise J and turned it against the feddies.

LUKE.....LUKE.....LUKE.....USE THE FORCE LUKE!

I think Star Trek is one of the greatest TV series ever. I think the first 3 Star Wars films are 3 of the greatest ever. The recent 3--not so much.

~The Force~ would win out and Luke Skywalker couldn't be stopped. I don't think Spock and Kirk could double team him and beat him. Luke would always have ~the force~ to bail him out.

I like Star Wars better. I havent watched much Trek but I liked what I have seen, but Id take Star Wars over it.

Lost at Birth
the force pretty much gives Luke superiority. especially since Kirk would be like, what the fuck? how did he move that without touching it?? Bones: damn it jim, im a doctor not a script writer!

han solo beats number 1 but Spock would beat Han, ....winner star trek

princess leia beats green women

now Data on the other hand beats C3PO if we are allowed to include second generation treksters

Chewie could kick all the trek engineers butts with his hands tied so no contest there

Darth Vader would probably just join and then lead the Borg....lets call it a draw

The Emperor could beat Q's ass. Q is pansy

light sabers are cooler than phasers

but, and this is the big whammy, The Starship Enterprise beats the ever lovin crap out of the Millenium Falcon

I am a failure to the Korean side of my family
Star Wars minus the prequels, however I do like Star Trek 4 and that documentry called Trekkies.

It's impossible to really compare the two.

Not counting the expanded universes (books, comics, video games, websites) we only have 6 movies (3 good, 3 crappy) for Star Wars but we have hundreds of hours of Star Trek.

Star Wars is more mythic. It deals with things like fate and destiny and the fulfillment of ancient prophecies. Star Trek is more of a straightforward, intelligent science fiction adventure.

Ordinarily I would not hesitate to side with Star Wars since I was 10 when it came out and it changed my life (as it did every other kid in the world) whereas I never saw an episode of Star Trek until I was older and the 3rd or 4th film had come out.

However...over the years I've gotten more into Star Trek and its much more involved universe. Just the Next Generation alone (the main Trek I like) is so detailed and absorbing I can never get tired of watching it.

Star Wars is basically 6 hours and it's over. While I can watch the trilogy over and over it's still only 6 hours. Star Trek TNG was 7 full seasons plus 4 films. That's a lot of detail to lose yourself in.

So...I'm afraid I'd have to semi-reluctantly side with Star Trek. If for no other reason than the sheer volume.

That and the fact that while Han Solo rules...I'd follow Captain Picard straight to hell if he gave the order.

Some excellent points. I however, am inclined to include other forms of media and not just movies or TV. I have turned my son on to reading the starwars books and he becomes lost in them, much like I have. Close but Star Wars for me.

I like them both for different reasons.

Star Wars is more of a fantasy series like Lord Of The Rings.

Whereas Star Trek seems to be more plausible as far as space travel in the future is concerned.

trek, easily. star wars is "meh" at best. its only saving grace is darth vader, but even he shows signs of george lucas' incredible, magnificent, unbeatable imagination: he is named vader, and he invades things. how long it must have taken him to come with that one...
