I think KOTOR III could hold a lot of potential in the right hands given technology and after seeing what can be done in combat regarding Force Unleashed.
Really put to use the double blade lightsaber in different forms of combat. Not to mention wrap up something involving both Revan and the Exile. See some of the party members in both games make a return.
Just let Bioware either work on it or someone they trust to work on it. Or let Obsidian develop a FULL game rather a half finished game to rush out before Holiday season.
But alas, instead we are given a MMO that will fade away and just end up not being KOTOR III.
The MMO would have only worked if they would have picked some totally new era to place it, or made it totally non-cannon. That way the casual Star Wars fans or the MMO fans would have got what they wanted, and the dedicated hardcore Star Wars fans would have been happy, but they couldn't do that. As it is they are going to screw over the KoTOR timeframe in both of the first two games and the Tales of the Jedi and KoTOR comic books. They are probably going to screw over Revan and the Exile (and their fans) by having them die out in the middle of nowhere, or something equally dumb. If any more stories are written about that era there is a good chance they will be made into crap and forced by what happens in some ridiculous MMO because it comes a little after that. In fact they seem to be doing all they can to either eliminate or turn a blind eye as much as possible to everything that happened in KoTOR 2. If I was Chris Avalon I'd be kind of pissed about it. I'd even be a little pissed if I was Drew Karpyshyn just for the fact they are going to ruin Revan and most of the people in the original game. Eventually it will have to effect the people in the comics as well.
What's worse is that since the New Jedi Order series of books came out about a decade ago and made the post trilogy Star Wars EU completely jump the shark the KoTOR stuff was the only good thing left about the Star Wars Extended Universe...and now they are going to fuck that up as well. It was bad enough watching them destroy the fabric of what Star Wars was supposed to be about with all the characters in the movies and their children. Now I get to watch it happen with the last good part of Star Wars they had left. It's bad since I was a huge Star Wars fan, but worse since I was an even bigger Star Wars EU fan and Revan was probably my second favorite character in any fictional setting Star Wars or not.
I could also mention things like how they are hurting things by blatantly ripping off concepts and looks from the movies just to appeal the common casual fan that only knows about them even though their placement in that period makes no sense.
