I momentarily have little ***** left due to a massive disturbance in the field of Ring-Related tales, closing in to a grand final THIS december.

It is strange that both storylines come in groups of three, the second before the first. Which makes me beliieve, regarding the LOTR / The Hobbit saga... there may even be a third group. It's not that Tolkien hasn't created enough material.

Back on topic. I am hyped, too, as I have seen the first movie when it was in the cinema back then originally. It is one of the things that shaped a big part of me.

Even though Episode 7 is 12 months away, you can feel the tension building.
When the film appears in cinemas , it will be a historic moment
The long awaited sequel to "Return of the Jedi"
But as well as that
The opening of future Star Wars films will be different in that now,
the parent studio is Disney
Let us see how they can direct the *****.
Can't wait -hhhaaa

Like you guys, I've not been impressed but I've not been disapointed either, unlike I've been about the Jurassic World trailer.

Actually I'm very confident about this new trilogy being better than the Prelogy : One of the things that ruined the prelogy was Lucas directing these movies. Lucas is a great producer, a great storyteller but not a good movie director. J. J. Abrams is a very good movie director who has experience with big budgets sci-fi movies since he directed the last two Star Trek movies

The Silmarillion would be epic, if it's even doable.

I don't think it would be posible to do. Maybe a part of it, like the 2nd Age, from the forging of the rings to the Battle of Dagorlad. But even this part encompasses about 2000 years of Middle-Earth Historry, quite complicated to compress that much time into 3 movies.

I think Lucas is a great director and a great businessman. Look @ the **** he's got @ his Lucasfilm ranch and ILM. He's made great films like THX 1138, American Graffiti, Star Wars, Captain EO (music video) and Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

Part of me is very, very excited for Episode VII now that Disney is in charge. The other part of me is very very frightened now that Disney is in charge. This teaser does nothing to quell that excitement or quell those fears. Especially after they've effectively erased the Expanded Universe.

Possibly the explanation for Disney getting into this as owners is due to the progress that the ***** has made over the aeons.

The Emperor had an Imperial Guard clad in some sort of bloodred body cloks/suits with visors, and a Number 1 in black full body armour with a facemask and a threatening voice.

The Emperor had a LONG time studying and refining his appearance and that of his minions.

Did you never wonder what all the Disneyworlds are hiding? What better way than using Princesses, Dwarves, humanized ******* to ensure his troups do not create fear until they strike?

And now the Dark Side shapes the outcome of the saga.

Well played, O Dark One

I agree. Everything was just more grandiose in scale in The Silmarillion that it would put The Lord of the Rings to shame - Sauron just a minion and The War of the Ring a mere skirmish in comparison. Though the story of Beren and Lúthien would make an awesome movie on it's own not to mention a great love story. I mean for those who like that kinda stuff.

Back to Star Wars. The prequels pretty much ****** the franchise for me. Here's hoping now that Lucas isn't at the helm, I wont have to cringe while watching. The trailer looks promising.

It doesn't look bad so far...

...other than the idiotic lightsaber design at the end of the trailer. That thing is stupid and whoever created it should be fired. Other than that I have seen nothing I haven't liked although it's not like they showed very much.

I'm also sure that whatever they put on the screen probably won't be as good as Grand Admiral Thrawn would have been.

Excited to see this! I love the new Sith Lightsaber design, it's different. In fact, I got in cyber arguments on twitter about liking the new lightsaber with Star Wars fanboys, lol, fuckin' pussies. OT: I miss playing Star Wars Galaxies :( and yes I know about SWGEmu, played it and it's ****, won't ever play it again.

It's not that it's different as much as it's just plain stupid. Not just from a logical, fighting, or in setting technical aspect either, but just as importantly because it just looks like crap. You can tell the creative development and conceptual artist people were allowed to get way to cute with it. In a movie where visual effects are more important than pretty much any other that's a bad mistake. Every time I see that person, if a major reoccurring character, I will have to struggle just to take the person seriously. Even if they nail the characterization, writing, and the acting I will always still think, “Wow, that’s a dumb ass lightsaber" ever time it’s seen no matter what else is going on, even if it could have been an awesome character. Truth be told I'm also not a fan of things being different for the sake of being different in things such as this. It's almost always a bad road to go down.

There is going to be some massive withdrawal symptons after the last Hobbit movie is released.
Enormous mythology in order of history
The Hobbit Parts 1 2 and 3
Then Fellowship of the Ring to the Two Towers to Return of the King .

New Line will want to see if they can make screen versions of the Tolkien legends before the Hobbit
the Rise of Middle Earth with the Conflict between the Valar and the First Dark Lord Morgoth
The heroism which defines the struggle of the Early Elves against Morgoth
Then the War of Wrath
And we have not even touched Numenor yet .

Disney are now the Keepers of the Star Wars Flame. I think they will do a good job

ban-one

Works for panties
It could be great or it could be terrible, we won't know until we see the finished product. And then possibly the reworking of it years later.

As for the new lightsaber design, I don't mind the additional smaller blades because they should work like hand guards and prevent someone from losing their hand in a fight, like a real *****.

And potential spoiler alert for this next bit: (highlight between Yoda and the "eek" or quote if you want to read)

:yoda: I really hope what I've heard about Luke's lost hand found with a death grip on his old lightsaber on some desert planet won't happen.

It's not that it's different as much as it's just plain stupid.

you're stupid, you fucking fanboy shithead. quit nitpicking, you haven't even seen the lightsaber in action, lol. perhaps its just for fear, to show the jedi a new look on the sith lightsaber. you can **** and bitch about a stupid change such as the crossguard, but i guarantee you, you will still watch it and the future episodes after it. so sit back and relax cause its happening.

There is a saying "New Kings, New Laws"
With Disney now the parent company of Lucasfilms, there has been charges in the Star Wars Universe recently
Following up on the succesful unveiling of "Star Wars -The Old Republic" which is magnificent may I add.

Applause for giving the green light to the sequels of "Return of the Jedi" and Episode 7 onwards.

But another change of notable mention was the decision to cancel "Star Wars The Clone Wars " , which did raise more than a few eyebrows including my own eyebrows .. in that as cartoon series went, "The Clone Wars" was superb and had tremendous interaction between the characters and events like a newsreel.
I am sure The Clone War episodes can be viewed online.

Not really surprising about the Clone Wars. The show had run its course. I dont think most animated tv series run longer than 5 years. Kinda hard to do that for a war that is supposed to last only 3 years. When Disney invalidated the EU they made very clear that The Clone Wars was still cannon.
