Good-bye Freeones. You have let the inmates take over the asylum. The people who have the power to get rid of spammers do nothing. I have no idea why. Changing some words to wtf? does nothing for me. Spammers have to be fought, we can't let them win. What happened when I complained about spam a wee while back? The response was "If you don't like spam don't read it". Well now look what you all got. I'm not moaning, I'm only being truthful.

We had a spammer problem for 3 and half hours and the staff has taken means to stop it from happening again.
When I went to bed 7 hours ago the board was fine. There hasn't been any spammers since.

Also, the mods now have powers they should have had long ago (IMHO). There may need to be more mods or the reorganization of them by time zone or something so the board doesn't continually go for half-days at a time unmoderated, but this board is too good to just leave without a fight!!! That's Homer Simpson logic: "Can't win, don't try.."
I'm happy with the recent changes here. New features, etc. Security and moderating need to be ever-addressed. Those are issues on any board. I think FreeOnes has decided to be more active on these things... I hope so!

Organizing and maintaining a forum such as this requires not generic book learning, but true learning that comes from experience and maturity. For you to say "stop it from happening again" clearly displays inexperience with a twist of egotistical gibber-jabber. For such egotistical statements to be made, offer tangible evidence of whom these spammers are. If tangible evidence is behond reach, egotistical comments are only degrading yourself and position.

Ranger has the reputation of displaying annoying spammers true names, home addresses and phone numbers with-in 20 united states minutes. I agree that sometimes Mod actions here are a little slow , I'm sure they are working to fix that . Sometimes there isn't coverage for a bit and "shit" slides in . It happens . I just don't get one point in the post you made .
So I only have one comment .NOBODY not even a mod should make private information available on a board .Under any circumstances . They should contact the spammer in private , let them know they have the info and for them to please quietly leave . Then ban their IP . A jerk spammers family should not be exposed to the remaining creeps of the net because they don't know how to act .I hope that others don't feel such action is acceptable . People could grab onto that info and cause terrible problems to innocent people .
