It does not disturb me, because that's kind of true.

I just meant that too much control is never a good thing.
 
The talk section is the best section of the forum if you ask me. It's the section I visit most, more than any other section ever. Y'all bitches ever wanna find me then you just need to prowl the talk section and you will come across me sooner or later. Be that a good thing or a bad thing - I'll leave that up to you lot to decide :)

User starts a thread or posts in a thread and if said forum cool guy doesn't agree with the title or the body content they feel 100% compelled to ****** and post negative and or offensive **** in the thread...almost as if it's a mandatory requirement. Where I come from we simply turn the channel or the page when we read or hear something we may not agree with....in this case it's real simple to just close the thread and move on. Usually, cool guy will relentlessly bash the user and when the user doesn't completely submit and or ignores them they'll do their best to ***** them to engage, and when the user puts up a fight and engages...said cool guy really goes ape ****.

It seems to me these cool guys are usually the ones who whine and bitch the most about almost anything.

Personally, I like the forum overall...Like anywhere, it's got it's dip-shits for sure!

I see the truth in your observation. Old hands (certainly NOT cool guys) always bash the n00bs. I used to regularily troll the official introduction thread with "welcome to Freeones. Bend over." to make a point of this behaviour.

I like this board for its lack of censorship. Boards where mods and admins lock, remove, ban etc. all the time become stale and too much like having a conversation in the lunch room at work - that is, you don't speak out but rather adapt your words to the established norm. Regardless of whether it's about subjects or tone, too many rules seem to go hand-in-hand with a more bland user base and boring discussions.

Anyway, this board has a lot of great things, among them porn stars, which is sort of like talking to movie stars - except you actually give a ****. Things I could do without however are all the fucking polls, or questions, or subjects that are more like a census than actual conversation. Those really need to go, they're like spam.

That, and the pictures of Captain Picard, cats, pies or memes that I admit can be funny occassionally, but belong on 9gag, reddit, 4chan or wherever people who never overcame their class-clown-complex demonstrate their badass ironic attitude towards everything and masturbate to their own humor. But let's face it, those people make up half the active posters on this board since a few years back. And there's still a lot of good posters around, you just gotta spend your time talking with them and just ignore the rest. If you do that this board is still an internet oasis :)
