something needs to be done about the talk section

Everyone was complaining when the rules were stricter that the rules were to strict, we loosen up on the rules, now everyone is complaining that the rules aren´t strict enough...

Why can't there be a moderate, happy, middle ground? Why does it have to be one extreme or the other?

Because no matter what we do, we can't make everyone happy. Someone is always going to bitch, moan, groan, complain and get their panties shoved up their twat sideways.

I would rather deal with some bitching and moaning from the likes of Sam Fisher and the troll corps than see a bunch of decent members and OCSM's impose permabans on themselves. :2 cents:

It's not an either or.

When the rules were strict we had members bitching.

When we loosened up the rules so members weren't being ****** under the **** like control, members were bitching.

When we ****** people over saying 'boo' to an OCSM, people bitched.

When we let people have their opinions, people bitched.

When we do something that the majority wanted (like open a political section), people bitched.

When Anders farts, people bitch....

Status Quo will work till it won't. I like the FreeOnes forums or I wouldn't keep coming back. At the end of the day it's the responsibility of the person posting to moderate their own behavior.

You want to have an honest conversation? Everything shitty I have ever posted to you has been in response to your relentless trolling. You and I have opposing viewpoints. You try to shove yours down everyone's throats. You troll harder when you're ignored. If people ignore me, I just move on. You're one of the biggest reasons for the decline in the quality of the forum. You take great pride in that. I would love to see you permabanned because you're a shitty person that has no personal restraint and until someone makes you stop you're just going to keep being a douche and fucking up the forum. To be fair, I'm sure it's not easy, Petra. But would you say that it's really just the people on the margin who tend to complain no matter what? I mean, it's not really "everybody" that complains, is it? I think what most of us would like to see is just reasonable, consistent moderation, that still allows a normal beef to take place every now and again, but isn't so harsh that any difference of opinion receives an infraction or ban. And going by what several of the OCSMs have said in various threads, allowing them to get really roughed up just causes them to stop posting - until Miss FreeOnes comes along again. I don't think they should be treated with *** gloves, but if the goal is to have models and porn stars posting in Talk, then there has to be rules that encourage them to do so, right? :dunno:

I hope to see things change. It would be really nice to see more models, porn stars and at least some semi-intelligent threads (I'm actually semi-stupid, so I can't help with that), instead of more trolls and complete dumbasses completely taking over the board.

And I'll be honest, if you want more OCSMs posting here (I assume you do), then put Briana Lee in as a mod for a trial period. I know Roald said that was against the rules. But so what? Suspend that rule and just do it. Hell, every other rule has been broken at least six times in the past month, why not that one too??? It's not like a law that requires an act of Congress. What's the worst that could happen? Just don't let her play with matches and we can forget about why she's no longer allowed to do house sitting in St. Louis. Seriously, give her a shot. And if she fucks up, you can fire her and ban me for making the suggestion. Fair enough?

Do people really think all the "cool members" are so weak that a troll would cause them to never login again? Cmon, ***. There isn't a troll powerful enough.

And the lax rules benefit more than just trolls. I'd probably be ******. Andronicus too. Not to mention all the people that talk **** to the trolls. We all cried when mods were ban happy so this is what we got. We made our bed....now we have to fap in it.

I think if you don't like a thread , just don't read it and don't post in it. Use selective reading, it will save your nerves, your time and you won't be bothered by who or what you don't like.
 
I have only been posting on here for a few months, and generally I think that the forum is great. I am a member of several other forums, but have no where near the same number of posts as i do on here. I enjoy most of the conversations on here, but i think that there is definitely way too many meaningless "is this film better than that film" threads that offer nothing to the forum. I do also feel that there can be a slightly cliquey feel to the forum, with many members cracking private jokes to one and other. Like i said i havent been on here for long, and i have tried to make a positive contribution to the forum, but i cant be bothered with in jokes and forum politics. At the end of the day we all discovered this site for similar reasons, and we have all made the decision to become members and to contribute to the content on here, so let stop with the bull **** posts and beef and try to enjoy the forum for what it was created for.

I think I'm falling in love with you......;)

Maybe it would give other models confidence to post on the board in places other than their babe threads if a model was made a mod & all they were there to do is keep an eye out for the other models & make sure they are treated the way they should be. I'm not saying it has to be me, there are alot more models with more board experience than me but it maybe an idea to encourage more models back to the Talk section to interact with all the lovely members here.
