Socialist Bernie Sanders To Announce 2016 Candidacy

Senator Bernie Sanders, one of two Independents in the entire Senate, is planning to announce a presidential run on the Democratic side this week. VPR News reported earlier that Sanders will announce his 2016 campaign in a short statement Thursday and then kick things off with a rally within the next few weeks.

Sanders has openly described himself as a socialist, and has talked quite a lot recently about income inequality and the ever-growing gap between the rich and the poor.

Of course, anyone on the Democratic side will have to go up against the Hillary Clinton juggernaut. Sanders said earlier this month that he could beat Clinton in the primary, and has been publicly questioning what exactly it is she’s running on.

I love this only because I know the GOP is going to lose their **** now that you have an actual socialist running. Add the fact that they already **** Hillary's guts. ****'s about to get good

It is great that elderly people can participate in the US presidential elections.

Seems alright with me as long as he stays away from my bank account.

"Bernie Sanders might run. I like Bernie. Bernie's an interesting guy.
Apparently some folks want to see a pot-smoking socialist in the White House.
We could get a third Obama term after all. It could happen."

I think that's a good thing that social-democrats (as were Gerhard Schroder will be heard in the democrat primaries. I only regret that this could mean Warren won't run. Or if she runs, I hope Sanders would give up an rally her, 'cause otherwise he would cost her votes.

But even if Warren doesn't run If I had to vote in the democratic primaries, I wouldn't for for Sanders : He's way to old to fit the job.

To those who cannot see the difference (or do not want to see it) between socialists and social-democrats : Tony Blair -British Prime Minister from 1997 to 2007- and Gerhard Schroder -German Chancellor from 1998 to 2005- were social-democrats. Have you heard about UK and Germany having collapsed in the early 2000' ?
Matteo Renzi -Prime Minister of Italy since 2013- is a social-democrat and, guess what, Italy is not collapsing. it's actually recovering from a terrible economic situation caused mostly by right-wing prime minister Silvio Berlusconi

I am glad he stepped up. Regarding the fears of him "going after my money" - I suppose those worried are middle-class members, and thus exactly the people he will be fighting for. Because you are the people who really keep the country going.

You forgot Bill Clinton

He's 6 or 7 years older than Hitlery. You're an idiot.
When you're 60+, Y years older makes much more diffference than when you're 30+ or 40+

Hilllary is 68, Bernie is 74
If Hillary's elected, she'll be 69 when she will take office and 73 at the end of her first term.
If Bernie's elected he'll be 75 when he'll take office and 79 at the end of his first term
Wether he is Dem ou Rep, would you be safe if the commander in chief is 79 ? Wouldn't you rather have one who's 73 ?

Let's get real here. Bernie has zero chance of being nominated much less elected and he knows it. He's in the race to counterbalance the Washington-insider and Wall Street special-interest influences that drive Hillary's machine and to make sure the voices of those who otherwise have no voice are heard (and he will, believe me). I mean, the republicans have more candidates running than I can ever remember and no one has a clear-cut lead from what I can tell. To listen to the left-wing media, the democratic nomination is already decided....it's Hillary. This is not healthy for the party or the nation IMO. We need debate, for authority to be challenged and to make people think about issues, not just fall in line like cattle because the ringmaster says so.

Sanders will ask very tough questions I promise you and, whether you agree with him or not, you've got to admire his courage to challenge what appears to be the democratic party's anointment of what amounts to nothing more than the establishment of a political dynasty. Frankly, I won't be surprised if, ultimately, the GOP falls back on the very same tendency and Bush walks off with the nomination as well. If that happens and it's Clinton vs Bush, I'm definitely voting Green Party.

So....Run Bernie run!!

Right there with ya.

There are already a lot of candidates on the right because of all of the money the special interests i.e. Koch brothers and Sheldon Adelson are pledging. So far its at 1 Billion fucking dollars in the name of free speech LOL the best part is, they'll still lose because their money can't create a good candidate which they don't have. Bush will get the nomination because of the right's fucked up amnesia of his *******'s destruction of our country and he's the potty-trained Bush *******. His ******** got busted for stealing ************ pads and writing herself xanax scripts then taking them to CVS her ***** was governor and her uncle was president and it just went away. oh the Bush ******....

I like Bernie, I may vote for him in the Cal Primary, but I don't think he has a chance of getting the nomination. I think it's going to be the political equivalent of Bambi meets Godzilla.
