1. I figured out why those holes were in pens & hilighters about 20 years ago, but never had a confirmation before. Makes a bigger difference with hilighters than ball point pens and for some reason Sharpies never followed suit.
2. I have to take exception on Eichler homes. I have dozens of friends who live in Eichler homes here in Silicon Valley and they were cheap crap with serious design flaws. Most had flat roofs without proper drainage (so they leak) and no insulation (so they are cold in winter and hot in summer). A lot of people have had to construct another low slanted roof either open or closed with insulation added.
