Sign of the Times: 75-year-old man blindly obeys car navigator

We have come so far:

A 75-year old car driver from Denmark was on a speeding lane from a german highway, when his car navigator put out the message:

'You're on the wrong lane, please turn now'

Without second thoughts, the man did exactly that and turned his car into the upcoming traffic lane in the direction he was originally driving from.

The car he hit crashed into him and the driver of it barely survived.

Maybe we don't need the Terminator cyborgs to eliminate us?

Never trust a computer

Kind of reminds me of the guy who drove off a cliff because his navigator told him to. Sadly the idiot didn't die. Although he was fined, so I guess it's not all bad news. [Story]

You would think at least a little common sense would be in play when someone made a decision of this kind. Not to just blindly obey the machine.

I'm kinda the opposite, sometimes I argue with my GPS and I usually end up regretting it!

:1orglaugh It reminds me of and episode from The Office where Michael drove into a lake because the navigator said "turn right"

Do the words "class action lawsuit" come to mind to everyone else?

lawyer: So, Mr. Ideeot, you drove into the oncoming lane because....
Mr. Ideeot: My GPS told me to.
lawyer: Your Honor, all these devices are a threat to people (ed. idiots) like my client, I request the jury find for him for the amount of $2,000,000!
Dumb Jury: Only $2,000,000?

I used a GPS while driving one time and it made my trip go through 3 states and almost Canada. I think I will stick to maps and road signs!

Sounds like US GPS .In the UK and lot countries you drive on the left than the right .

It may be GPS of US for right side of the road. Not all maps and GPS are real.

Looking at google maps and GPS they make mistakes here and there.
