I can't wait to see the full disclosure showing where all the money is coming from. :1orglaugh
No doubt it will leave off such wonderful donors like:

Saudi Arabia
Libya
Bahrain
UAE

The fact that you fail to even acknowledge, let alone accept, that there is a vein of perceived insensitivity in all of this is just ignorant. Also, this isn't a partisan issue, and acting as if Republicans, or right-wing, non-muslims are the only people who take issue here is even further ignorance. I don't know what else to say...

If it were Al Qaeda building the mosque, I'd acknowledge. Since it's just some Muslims (since they're not in Gitmo - hmmmm....that doesn't really mean someone's guilty either, not by a long shot, but hey - or standing trial for anything bad or evil, I tend to treat them as I would most people, innocent of any serious crimes), and not Al Qaeda, the insensitivity here is on the part of those AGAINST the mosque, who are both stupidly smearing a huge group with the crimes of a very few fundies, and who are making it look like Americans don't really treasure their freedoms and constitutional rights as much as they like to claim. Now it looks like it's a "Freedom for me (the Christians & Jews, and Mormons), but not for thee (the "Mozlems" or "Muslins" as too many of my neighbors refer to it)" sort of right. Shiny on the theoretical outside, but hollow on the practical inside.

Of course not!

It's ironic to see generic Conservatives contradicting their party's position against big government when they run to Big Brother to violate the civil liberties of American citizens

^^^ Ironic, but not surprising.

Few people are genuine small-government conservatives (quasi-anarchists).

They just - like most people - want the government to stop doing all the stuff they don't like, and doing all the stuff that they do like. They just try to dress it up in pretty clothes and call them "principles."

^ Conservatives in Name Only need to pull their head out of their rectums so they can see that they are not consistent with they're anti-big government stance when they run for office to expand government instead of making it smaller as Bush Jr. did.

I like Michael Moore's idea of building this community center right on Ground Zero

Build Islamic center on Ground Zero, says Moore

CNN

Liberal filmmaker Michael Moore is weighing in on the proposed Islamic Community Center in New York City, stirring the the pot by saying he doesn't want it to be built near Ground Zero but rather on Ground Zero.

"I want it built on Ground Zero. Why? Because I believe in an America that protects those who are the victims of hate and prejudice," Moore writes in an open letter on his website. "I believe in an America that says you have the right to worship whatever God you have, wherever you want to worship.

If they build it I think I will go there for a visit and throw some slices of ham everywhere, just to see if it melts away.

If u seprated between Musilm AMerican citizin and non Muslim American citizin then it is a fatal mistake because in such acase the US 'll lose its international place as Country of freedom and inequaltiy
And in the other hand that doesnt give the muslim the right to built it only if they fullfill the normal proceder that any one who want to build anything in that area do (((NORMAL Proced))

I'm glad to see Michael Moore rallying up people to stand up and back up this community center
being built :)

Freedom is necassary, but respect is also important. if it is a problem to many, why don't they build they mosque somewhere near it, but not on the ground 11/9 ?
should be the solution which is so simple nobody complains then.

Religion n Government... two dangerous materials that should never get together...
imagine there is no religion, religion is the biggest reason for wars...

If the land was acquired legally, the owners can build what they want. Too much anti Muslim BS in the streets man. People dont know their ass from their elbow and still opine.
