3000+ students and others all running around in a panic and they just happened to find him and said, "Here is a microphone, tell us what happened".

CNN’s town hall on gun control and safety following the Parkland shooting received “fake news” backlash after Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School shooting survivor Colton Haab claimed CNN tried to script his question. CNN denied these claims and said that the student’s father, Glenn Haab, sent doctored email exchanges between CNN and himself to media outlets. When the dust settled from this back-and-forth, it turns out Haab did, in fact, alter the emails.

Haab admitted to deliberately leaving out words in emails to CNN producer Carrie Stevenson that he sent to Fox News and Huffington Post, according to the Associated Press. After cries of “fake news”, CNN released the email exchanges between both parties as proof.
“It is unfortunate that an effort to discredit CNN and the town hall with doctored emails has taken any attention away from the purpose of the event,” the network said in a statement. According to Glenn Haab, he didn’t have any “malicious” intent by omitting the words.

As reported over the weekend, Colton Haab proposed questions to ask which included arming teachers. His father then emailed a four-page document with a roughly 700-word speech as well as a series of questions for his son to ask.

In the CNN version of the email, Stevenson states, “This is what Colton and I discussed on the phone that he submitted. He needs to stick to this.” Glenn’s altered version deleted the words “that he submitted” making it seem as though he was being fed a question.

What I own is irreverent, but it's my RIGHT to own it. I have never, thankfully had to raise a gun in self defense, nor have I done it in anger. My rights should not be violated, OR QUESTIONED because the system failed....and it did, MISERABLY. I don't like to see this crap happen. It's not only a senseless waste of life, but a black eye to every law abiding citizen that enjoys the shooting sports, or collecting. I have no problem with raising the age to buy these types of weapons, but banning, and restricting.....where will it end? When will those that are hell bent on a total elimination of private gun ownership stop? It's no different then those that want to stop abortion. "I think it's wrong, so you should too." "I don't like guns, so no one should have them". The fact is, there are many things that could be done to help reduce this type of horror...you will never stop it, but the brutality in france, and Germany proved that. Why is it that gun rights are the first compromise, the first option? Why aren't schools made more secure? Why shouldn't EVERY student have to pass through a metal detector? Why shouldn't there be only one way in, and it be secured, much like an airport? There are certainly ways to secure entrances, but allow them to be safe exits in the event of an emergency, such as fire or weather. So the kids have to get there 2 hours before school....oh well, welcome to the working world. To be honest, I can't see the point of a bump stock...ammo is expensive, but semi automatic rifles are fun to shoot, it's a great hobby. I shouldn't be denied because some fucktard wants to be famous. The worst thing they do, is give these fuckers their 15 minutes of fame. We should have never known his name, we should never have seen his face, we should have just been informed he was caught, and executed for his crime.

You could just go to a shooting range and pay to rent an assault rifle and have fun.
I fired an assault rifle a few times and it was fun, but I prefer to blow up things.
I'd prefer to buy TNT or grenades, because blowing up stuff is way more fun than shooting guns.
I'm a responsible person, I can have grenades at home or carry them with me and make sure they don't explode accidentally, and I would never use them to hurt anyone, unless is was for self defense or to safely blow stuff up for fun.

Even if schools were completely secure, what about all the other public places/events that are crowded, how do you protect those people?
