One of the biggest stars in porn history can celebrate her 59th birthday today! Congratulations to Seka! :hatsoff:
Jamie Gillis once described Seka "a bit above porn", but also as a "white trash queen". It's not quite obvious what he meant, but I understand it as a description of her two sides: the beauty queen ("too pretty for porn") and the nasty slut. It's exactly that combination that gives us the hottest porn stars.
Her debut in the porn industry came in 1977 and around 1980 she was probably the biggest star. By 1982 she reduced her appearances, even stopped shooting sex movies for a while and avoided the real hardcore stuff she had done so much 1977-82. The HIV epidemic that put fear in the community during the 80's, affected her of course to make these decisions. [You can't avoid to think of all the scenes she did with John Holmes at this time. He died in AIDS in 1988.] In the early 90's she made a very acclaimed comeback, but it was very short. Her last movie was "American Garter" in 1993. She's listed for more than 200 titles as a performer, many of them compilations. She's of course member of the AVN Hall of Fame. Anything else would have been a gross insult. :bowdown:
