search function , why does it never work?!

The search function on this site has always been weak. It's been noticed/mentioned a thousand times (that's not a dig...it really has). I've always remembered that the 2 main bitch-fests when I first came on board were repeat threads and the search function. And with the relatively new policy of giving every woman whose ever had her picture taken a place on the site, it's probably not going to get any better.

Yeah it's not really intuitive to use.

If you want to search on title of a thread:

- Go to 'advanced search' and select 'search single type content' (standard selected)
- select 'posts' for 'search type'
- type an entry in 'keyword(s)' and select 'search titles only' (if you select 'search entire posts' you are going to get a lot of garbage)
- Keep the rest as is.

That basically covers most of what you want to search for. Hope it helps.

thank you! only real reason i ask is cuz i got told a couple times ti use search first cuz it was a duplicte, but yet i did search first and that person didnt show me the duplicate..
