I love scotch. Scotch, scotch, scotch. Here it goes down. Down into my belly. hmm hmm hmmm hm hm hmm
There is a difference, my friend.WTF? Am I reading this correct? Some folk are actually saying "I don't like Scotch I prefer whisky/whiskey"? Exactly what do you think 'Scotch' is if it's not whisky?
^^ Yeah I really like the Polish Vodkas, like Belvedere and Chopin. But my number one spirit love is tequila.
Ahhhh my friend, I tip my glass back for you right now!! Cheers, and good health to you and those in your circle!! I'm happy to hear you like it, and actually, your description is EXACTLY how I felt with my first sip of the Brown Nectar......interesting, I don't hate it, wait for it.....huh! I think I like it! The next day, I kept thinking about what a pleasant experience it was, and I have been a scotch man ever since. Nothing else really seems to have the complexities, the hidden flavors that explode later in the drink, the smokiness, the EXPERIENCE!!Ok, well, I didn't pick up a bottle of Dewars, instead, I got Macallan 12.
It's.......interesting. I can see it being enjoyable to some people. It has a lot of taste to it. I think it was a good "first time" Scotch experience. I don't hate it, I don't love it. I think I'm still and Irish whiskey man though.
Thanks for the topic though, and the suggestion.
I agree with you about moderation. However, that being said, as an aspiring writer, I have to admit to you all that there have been, still are, and will be times that overindulging has set off a firestorm of thoughts and inspiration in my head. I don't understand it; I just know that when that particular urge suddenly shows up from the bowels of my mind, holding a bottle, it's really in my best interest to go ahead and open the door, so to speak!Hmm, tequilla. I've had it here and there. That is definitely something you drink when you wanna drink.
Not too much firewater scares me, but if there are any, it's probably tequilla. I can even muster pure 151 to the amazement of those that witness me, but tequilla...well, it's tequilla. Sammy Hagar makes a decent bottle ,though. Tried it years ago. The key, again, is moderation. That's an idea that I have slowly come to know and understand. :o

Wasn't going to have another glass.....but after seeing the word whisky(how I prefer it to be spelled) and whiskey, well, sorry all, gonna have just ONE more. Right now. Can't say anything about 30 minutes from now......If spelt "whisky" it comes from Scotland, if "whiskey" it's from Ireland.
The problem comes with drinks like Bourbon which really shouldn't be called whisk(e)y at all but it's too late to change that. They are attempts to make a spirit from other grains , they make a good drink in their own right but can't compare with a malt whisky (you shouldn't really expect them to)
There are whiskies from Scotland and Ireland which are blends of non malt with malt;again pleasant enough but are recognised to be cheaper inferior versions.

^^ Actually...the more I drink it....the more I like it! Isn't it funny how that works? This must be what it's like to be a girl!

I'm a big vodka man myself:
