Sci-Fi/Horror fans... Alien vs The Thing

I love "The Thing", all versions. Really love it.
My vote goes to Alien though, maybe it's the Sci-Fi thing but both are friggin' great. Geez that's a great idea for a combo night.

The thing was great, I really liked the setting too, not many movies take place in Antarctica. Just watching that movie made me feel cold and afraid, paranoid, etc.

The Thing. hands down.

it was one of the first horror movies i ever watched. i think i saw it first when i was like 10, home alone one night. it scared the living shit out of me, gave me nightmares for a week. some parts i still have trouble watching, just because of how incredibly scary and unbelievably fucked up they were.

alien on the other hand, when i saw it in full for the first time when i was 11 or 12, reminded me a lot of Halloween or Friday the 13th, in the sense that the bad guy never spoke, you only saw parts of him at certain times until the ending etc etc. Yea, its a great movie, one of my favorites for the genre's, but nothing compared to The Thing

I haven't watched The Thing all the way through, every time I got to watching it as I grew up I fell asleep. Must have missed something though, maybe I'll try watch it another time when I can't sleep...

i love The Thing, it was better than Alien. But the sequel to Alien, Aliens, was far better. :thumbsup:
