Usually Atheist say that Christianity does not mean anything to them, but they talk about it constantly. :hairpull:
Because christianity is everywhere and always trying to influence our lives through politics.
Christianism isn't the only religion to do so but, in Europe and the US, it is the religion that has the biggest influence.
As atheist we don't want any religion to influence our lives and our rights, by any way.

Tell me how Christianity has any influence on your life or violates any of your rights.

Because my parents were catholics, I was baptised when I was a baby. So officially I am catholic, even thought I reject that it is some thing that i can't undo.
After I died, mormons may baptised me witout my consentment or the consentment of any of my relatives, even thought I was baptised as a catholic.

Even thought France has separation of Church and State, which reduces the influence of religions on government, many holy days (the french word for them do not have any religious reference), unlike the word "holy day" which clearly refers to religion) are because of religion (Easter, Ascencion, Asumption, All Saints Day, Christmas). The law says that if a company wants its workers to work on these days, they have to be paid double, so most workers -including me- loose a day of work (and a day of salary) because of religion.

I know that, because of France's Separation of Church and State, religion has very little influence on government and politics but I know that such state secularism is very uncommon, that in mst countries, religion has a much bigger influence.
Still, religious lobbies are pushing and getting more and more influence, particulary muslims

You get 5 weeks of vacation guaranteed for your first year. Plus you get overtime after only 35 hours. Cry me a river. What about all the other non religious holidays you don't get paid for? Would you like to work those also? Not all companies and industries close on those days. If they can make money, they will be open. I'm sure there are more Atheists welcoming these extra off days than not.

Being baptized violates you. How deep is this shame that you carry around with you? Do you have a plan to thwart those evil Mormons planning your death baptismal? I'd get on that right away.

Religion is an infection. The world would be better without it.

If Jimmy's friend's beliefs involve bigotry, I'd expect him to say something.

bobjustbob, are you blind? Have you not been paying attention to what religion has been doing for thousands of years let alone just the past ten yeas which we've seen so much hate towards science, equal marriage and bodily rights. I was lucky enough to be brought up with moderate Christian parents who don't exactly care what the bible says, they just believe out of fear. We have to share this country and really, this world so it makes me happy knowing that people care about the suffering of others rather than their own. The response to attacks on religion is usually "what has it done to you" which shows how moderates disassociate themselves from their religion so much, they can't even see it's harm or they use the no true Scotsman fallacy. Sense moderate fellowship results in kinder people, this means that most believers know their religion is harmful yet believe out of fear, habit or to feel important.

Most assholes.........excuse me, ATHEISTS are really just anti-Christian. Or they're just too scared of other beliefs to roundly criticize all of them. The second I see an "atheist" openly go after Islam as vehemently as they go after Christians I will respect their religion. So assholes.........I mean atheists, STOP PUSHING YOUR RELIGION ON ME.

Actually, we're not anti-christians, we're anti christianism. As well as anti-judaism, anti-Islqm, anti-Mormonism, etc...

Atheism is not a religion. Or it's a religion as bald is a hair colour.

The only other group with a small demographic but a bully pulpit is homosexuals, ergo sum, all atheists are gay.

So she came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said, "They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don't know where they have put him!"
John 20 ; 2

Jesus was GAY ! And, technicaly, he was a bastard : Conceived by his mom with someone that wasn't her husband.

Yep, I agree with Bobby and that Boobhat's image stole words out of my mouth. People should stop mixing atheists and different anti-religion hate groups together.

Prayer is useless, why does god need worship? and religious services are for the numbing of the mind. Is there a god? If there is, he is not evident in my life!

Yea, I also am aware of missions sent to the shittiest places on Earth with food, doctors, medicine, tools, books, etc. They build wells, schools, and hospitals too. Always the first on the scene of in times of disaster to bring relief. And just for your information, there are plenty of Atheists against abortion and gay marriage.

Atheism isn't a religion. Off is not a tv channel. If given the rare chance, I attack Islam with no fear. Just so happens that there are more Christians to deal with which is a point made many times to those that simply can't hear/read well or are just too stupid to understand simple points. "So assholes...I mean atheists" Very immature and an example of a pot calling the kettle "black". Also, not very clever TYPING a rethought. Especially sense we can edit our comments.

Atheism isn't a religion and there are plenty of theists for abortion and gay marriage. What's important is who can provide a rational argument against abortion and gay marriage. They're the first to blame "sin" and the "sinful". Missions haven't done anything with regards to altering the poverty rates in any country and what's so interesting about you crediting missions is that clearly shows that they don't believe in prayer and announcing you're on the scene, doesn't mean they were the first ones there. Also using church goers money when we already have charities and rescue groups, is pretty disgusting. Not to mention that thinks to missions, we know have indoctrination Africans promoting bigotry towards atheists and homosexuals as well as albinos. Africans certainly need food, doctor and medicine thinks to prayer not working but they do not need more superstition which totally reverses any humanitarian efforts provided.

Don't try to sidestep what you said. You blamed religion for anti-abortion and anti-gay. Now you are saying bigoted Atheists have better rational than Catholics. Yes, there are plenty of bigoted Atheists too.

So all of those missions are wasting their time. Tell that to the villagers that aren't being visited by other charities. Tell that to the flood and tornado victims that have their local churches mobilized before government gets there. Tell that to the inner-city parents that can have their kids go to a church rec center rather hanging out in the streets. Tell that to the homeless folks getting their hot meals at church soup kitchens. You say there are others doing this but guess what, it ain't enough. You call this kind of work disgusting simply because the individuals doing it have spirituality. That's pretty sad thinking.

There are bigots in general but when someone is bigoted because they're told by an "unchangeable" authority that they should be, that person is much more difficult to change. I don't see atheist groups attacking abortion clinics or marriage equality so thank there you go.

"It aint enough" Exactly my point against missions and those that inject religion bullshit into their "charity" work. Also, now you're sidestepping what you said about non-church groups helping. I call it disgusting because it's turning helpless people into bigots and continuing the spread of religious indoctrination and lie spreading. All while using other people's money while claiming prayer works. Not to mention that these churches endorse politicians that promote anti-abortion, anti-science and anti-equality legislation. Talk about sad.

Christian indoctrination in Africa also caused massive risse in AIDS contamination, due to the "no condom" religious policy.
