Because my parents were catholics, I was baptised when I was a baby. So officially I am catholic, even thought I reject that it is some thing that i can't undo.
After I died, mormons may baptised me witout my consentment or the consentment of any of my relatives, even thought I was baptised as a catholic.
Even thought France has separation of Church and State, which reduces the influence of religions on government, many holy days (the french word for them do not have any religious reference), unlike the word "holy day" which clearly refers to religion) are because of religion (Easter, Ascencion, Asumption, All Saints Day, Christmas). The law says that if a company wants its workers to work on these days, they have to be paid double, so
most workers -including me- loose a day of work (and a day of salary) because of religion.
I know that, because of France's Separation of Church and State, religion has very little influence on government and politics but I know that such state secularism is very uncommon, that in mst countries, religion has a much bigger influence.
Still, religious lobbies are pushing and getting more and more influence, particulary muslims
