Rush Limbaugh calls Georgetown student a 'slut'

Explain to me how the use of contraception to prevent pregnancy is irresponsible. Further, as it requires a doctors prescription to obtain oral contraception, why shouldn't a prescription drug plan cover it, like they do for most other prescription drugs? You're making a straw-man argument.

And Asshat Worm, go play in traffic.

I said it is irresponsible to want other people to pay for it, not to take it. Also not all birth control is by prescription. There are several that can be bought over the counter. Should those be covered too? Condoms prevent unwanted pregnancies too. Why not cover those as well? There are many drugs not covered by insurance that are prescription drugs.

Oral contraceptives are only by prescription. No, over-the-counter contraceptives shouldn't be "covered", but anything prescribed by a doctor should be. I pay a lot of money for my health insurance and if my dr. prescribes a medication it should be covered by my prescription drug plan. I pay for it, not anyone else. I'm not advocating for free anything. I'm saying that if a doctor prescribes a medication then insurance should cover it.

Liberals referenced Palin and the Bush daughters much more severely... I wasn't aware of any outcry from the 'publicans. :p ;) Hell, the liberals even nailed McCain's daughter before they even knew about her politics.

I'm gonna have to agree with Jane B and Will on this. Everyone should just pay for your own condoms. Condoms prevent STD anyways birth control doesn't. The reality is those who want birth control wants to have unprotected sex. Those that use birth control for necessary medical reasons are not even close to the majority. I'm not even close to being religious/conservative but there's gotta be a line drawn somewhere. The government doesn't need to intervene in such matter.

Moving to a trailer in Fife, AL.
I feel like Crocodile Dundee in his first movie. I haven't been by much lately, but when I do stop by, "I Love Lucy" is on. Same episode.

"Yeah, she's a lying publicity hungry skank.

Seriously...$3K a year for that shit? And her tuition at one of the prestigious law universities in the country is, what...$25K a year? Fucking brilliant one, this one.

And did you notice in her "testimony" she said her tuition is largely covered by us, the taxpayer, already.

And yeah, my girl took pills and I can assure you, they were not even remotely close to what this lying libtard is claiming. Unless, like you said, maybe she is getting gangbanged by the entire campus on a weekly basis."

No, because you were too busy running your mouth to read the article for facts. You just added the same crap that Rush did and more.

That is a good point

The argument is about oral contraception, not condoms. Why is it an issue if people want to have unprotected sex? Should married couples be forced to use condoms? Oral contraceptives require a doctors prescription, therefore should be covered by the prescription drug plan that is attached to an individuals insurance, insurance that they pay for themselves. This isn't an issue of whether or not anyone else should provide it.

If you go to the doctor and your doctor prescribes a drug do you expect the insurance you pay your hard earned money for to cover it? I do.

I know the thread is about oral contraception but my point is condoms are safer/more economical. Oral contraception is not a necessity for most women. That's the point. And your argument that if a doctor prescribe something then insurance should cover it is flawed because you have a realize there's a large amount of other drugs that insurance does not cover because it's not a necessity.

I agree that condoms are safer and more economical and I'll add that they don't require a prescription. However, if the argument is purely from the standpoint that "people want to have unprotected sex", I still want to know what the issue is with that, particularly.

I'm not a doctor or a woman so I haven't done any in-depth investigation into what is or isn't a necessity for "most" women, but I will reiterate that it's better to prevent an unwanted pregnancy than to terminate one after it's happened. Here's the link I provided above that gives some good information- http://www.healthinsurancerates.com/56-birth-control-and-health-insurance.html

Would you care to give some examples of "other drugs" not covered by insurance? I checked and couldn't find much information. I did find this- https://www.bluecrossma.com/wps/por...JzcPIwN3HzdzA08Tb0fjAA8L4xA3M_2CbEdFAENjuLk!/ but it seems that those medications that aren't covered do have alternatives that are covered.

Doesn't feed trolls and would appreciate it if you
Why must you prove how much you deserved Asshat Of The Year so damn often?
Did you also find it interesting that he said certain threads were closed, said it with authority, and then was unequivocally proved wrong, and reacted with some shit about a troll? I thought he might be more upset to see that it was proved, beyond any shadow of a doubt, that something he said was a blatant lie.
You know, I've debated putting him on ignore many a time, but I think this thread's finally pushed me over to do it. I was talking in another thread about the human ability to distort reality to amazing lengths and added some examples, but really: just look at what Will posts. I know to expect it, yet the lengths of distortion still surprise me. But I must digress, for this isn't the topic at hand...

I'd rep you for your half of the conversation if I could, as it's the half I'd be having if you weren't beating me to it.

Like, say, viagra. Oh wait...

Here's a clip from yesterday's Daily Show where Jon had the president of Planned Parenthood on the show. They don't discuss this topic specifically much, but you get a good sense of the absurdity of the context and where most people stand (assuming her numbers are correct; I may look for them later):

What happened with this story was Rush Limbaugh, a drug addicted slob, got mad at the thought of a young law student having sex.

Never mind that she pays for her own insurance and wasn't asking the government or anyone else to pay for her oral contraception. She's being responsible for her own insurance and her own health but somehow, because she's a young student having sex, in Rush Limbaugh's mind and all of his sheeple followers, she's "irresponsible" and "asking the government" to take care of her.

Rush Limbaugh apologized. His supporters should have enough intelligence to realize that even if his apology is fake they should probably back off it, too.

Funny, that Rush Limbaugh, king slob hero to Asshats everywhere, judged a Georgetown law student as a "slut" and "prostitute" and that's why this thread was started. But of course, it's all the fault of "liberals". Why don't you take your head out of your ass, Asshat, and try to form a coherent thought.
