So the Rolling Stones reissued Goats Head Soup with the "Scarlet" track. It's possibly their worst album ever. The only redeeming qualities were "Angie" and "Heartbreaker"
Jimmy Page does add to the band's distinctive sound. This song "Scarlet" is very good. Jimmy is always known for his great vibrato. And he takes advantage of it here. Sounds like the song has a bit of a reggae feel to it maybe some ska influences too if you ask me. Charlie is an amazing drummer. I can actually hear Bill Wyman's bass guitar. That, in itself, is very hard to fathom. It is because Charlie is such a great percussionist and drummer and he always overcompensates for Bill's mediocre bass playing. Bill Wyman's bass is always middle-of the-road at best. I guess Keith is playing rhythm guitar. Was Mick Taylor playing on the track?
Speaking of Mick Taylor, I guess he's still upset over not given songwriting credits on some of the songs on Sticky Fingers and Exile on Main Street.
