squally my friend: maybe give Chrome a 2nd/3rd chance ? I have -- and actually I am liking it (I have three multiple browsers open ) : nice and minimal interface and as fast as Opera. no squally ? :shy: I was prob. too harsh on it earlier .

Also, I just downloaded/installed Opera (having been using Fire J. Fox - he was a bit twitchy) and it's doing well so far. Fast page loading but that's after just 24 hours of having it. We'll see how it does in the long run. FF seemed fast to me in the beginning, however that was after years of IE, so anything is faster by comparison. There are a few very minor differences I'm getting used to but so far so good. I still have FF installed as well...just in case.

I'm pretty happy with the latest version of FF, no more crashes and stuff.
I don't really like Opera, I used it some while ago and wasn't so pleased with it.

I downloaded Firefox 7 beta and it's been very solid, and it does use less memory. I like Chrome but every extension uses it's own memory as soon as the browser is started.
Come on, Not Man. I'm not asking out of defense of google. I just want to know if there's a proven better search engine so maybe I can use it. Yahoo, Bing, Ask, Squallumzsearch...

You dodged my question twice now. I don't see the need to be so secretive about it when you're so passionate about the "not".
I'm not a google fan either but I'm asking you since you're the loudest and most persistent about it here.
Hypothetically, if you were able to grab the whole world by the head and tell them what to use instead of Google (search engine. forget the browser altogether), what would it be? - and don't just say "Not Google".

:goodpost: this is indeed the problem though -- nothing really 'beats' Google as a search engine. One just has to be careful though. All I use is the engine ; not gmail, the cloud, android, etc.
I do use Chrome though as a third browser . And I have nothing against Android tbh .
