What I find really striking is the number of stars who haved died after the year 2000 compared to those in the eighties and nineties. Being a big Shauna Grant fan back when she was still doing porn, I remember what a shockwave her suicide sent through the industry.

Are there just that many more women in the industry these days, or is there something else at work that wasn't a factor 20-30 years ago?

I wonder what the proportion is relative to other sectors of the entertainment business. Drugs and suicide seem to be pretty popular there too.

Well it is probably more than you think. I don't want to generalize but the few porn stars I have met, were pretty messed up in drugs or other things. I have to imagine if they weren't messed up before they entered the industry, the industry gave them the means to become messed up.

Just like Hollywood, drugs are plentiful in this industry and it is a sad thing to see.
