Republican Hypocrisy

Illinois congressman Joe Walsh, a Tea Party backed freshman, is going to skip Obama's job speech on Thursday. This guy is the poster child for everything that is wrong with our political system right now. This is just so disrespectful to the president, Obama is the most disrespected president in my lifetime no doubt about it.

What the fuck is going on in this country? The political system at the moment just down right pisses me off

To the point...GOPers are touting Obama moving his speech because of Boehner's request as a win for them. Huh???

This is what it's come to?

Obama: :dunno: I'm still going to say the same thing I was going to say the other day. If it's no skin off my back, why create the distraction and politics as usual?

Boehner::nanner:Got 'em to move his speech.:banger:

So will she start wailing and hollering about the travesty of it all?
Me thinks not.

And continuing on.. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-09-21/issa-sought-u-s-clean-energy-aid.html

Darrell Issa, who said government subsidies to specific companies can encourage corruption, sought U.S. help in the past for clean- energy projects in his home state of California.

If Joe Walsh had a crystal ball back in 2011 and could read his Twitter feed today, how far into outer space would his head make it before it disintegrated into comet dust?

Re-reading this thread is good times. Good times. @Straight Shooter

@xfire: 2021 Necrobumper of the Year.

Times have not changed. Republicans are still trying to get benefits from programs they voted against.

This is as good a place as any to put this segment.

Ted Koppel goes to Mayberry.
https://www.cbsnews.com/amp/news/a-trip-to-the-original-mayberry-the-andy-griffith-show/
(I used this link because it has a transcript. No viewing needed.)

Tourists flock to Mt Airy, NC in order to get a bit of the past. Well, a certain past for some. The black residents had a different take.

The remarks from the tourists on the trolley are the highlight.

If you don’t like the truth, go find the truth elsewhere:
"We don't even watch news on TV anymore. We don't feel like we're being told the truth. And we find our truth in other ways. And I won't say what those other ways are, but I feel like we're not being told the truth, because we're trying to be swayed in a direction that we know is not the right direction."

(The news is not always right on certain specifics. For the most part, those cases are few.)

Those people sound like they not only have confirmation bias, but are willing to jump off a cliff and slam into it at terminal velocity.

gmase, I've asked this many times with no answer. A belief system that claims god has a will yet we have free will, is self-contradicting. Same with the problem of prayer. Ask for something and whether we get it or not, it's apparently up to god so the prayer was either redundant or futile. I also find it strange how so many people in a part of the world that went for thousands of years with this particular god, think this god should care about our non-theocratic government.

I am in America, not of it.

One of the many reasons that religion is not viable to many of us.

*went thousands of years WITHOUT this particular god. sorry.
I also wanna add the irony of this excuse of manifest destiny being ignored when ancestors of those slain first nation people want to migrate to this country.
