Repping people - comments

Yeah, yeah, another rep thread... :crash:

Just checked my profile and I notice the vast majority of people who've left me rep also give a quick comment.

Now I on the other hand rarely give a comment when I rep someone. Mainly:

a) I've repped their post, which is recorded in their profile too, so it goes without saying which post I've repped
and
b) I'm a lazy fucker :D

What's your repping style when it comes to comments?

GF.

It's up to the person doing the repping. But I like to leave a little foot note so to speak. IMO it makes it that little more personal and also makes it clear why you've repped them!

I like to leave a comment - that way the recipient understands my motive for getting plus/minus rep.

What really bugs me is receiving neg rep without comment. For example, sometime ago I got neg-repped for my comments on a Kanye West thread without an explanation why. IMO it completely negated the neg rep - if you disagree, explain why.

As short as possible, usually, and for some reason, I always end it with " - BNF", even though it's clear its me! Ok, I've done " - BiEnneEffe" and jod still reminds me of that...;)

Actually, I have given neg rep less than (I would guess) a dozen times since the rep system started, and I don't think more than half that in the last calender year... and when I have handed it out, it was usually because the person had PM shut off.

I almost never leave a comment since most of the time I rep for good links and it's obvious that if I repped you for your post in Krystal Steal's (example) thread then it's for a good link.
If I have some witty remark to make I'd make it or if it's a special case that I feel like adding a little input then I'd make a comment but normally I wouldn't comment something tirivial like "nice post man".

P.S.
Right now my post count and rep power are the same.

Yes, this I agree with. Ironically enough my first ever rep was a neg, but there wasn't any explination to why!

I usually add some comment to rep, of course, I've omitted it a few times. Concerning negative rep, I think putting comment thereto is even more appropriate, but I've never given a neg. rep to anybody yet.

All of you whom I have repped, must have seen a comment, that too not something like "Rep Time". I tried to explain what I found good about the post. I've not neg repped any one yet, though I came very close to it only once. Appreciatee should know why he is appreciated, IMO.

I usually like to leave a lil' comment if I can. Just adds a more personal touch!

Don't think I've handed out any neg rep yet!

I'm still trying to get the hang of it all.

I always give a brief comment...although when I give neg rep its usually more in depth so my reasons are clear.

I always leave a comment. Sometimes it's just something like "have some rep". Not really that intelligent, but I don't like giving rep without a couple of words.

I've only given neg rep two or three times. I can't really remember because it was just to some spammers. Then I just wrote something about spamming. Oh and I gave to 4G63 because he wanted it instead of positive rep for good posts. At least I hope he did :D

I haven't receieved neg rep yet, and if/when I get some, I would sure hope that I get a comment with it. Otherwise it might not be clear to me what I did wrong.

I never want to end any comment I make with my initials...unless people want to start reading "Great point - BS". It might cause some problems!:o

Personally, if the rep is just because someone congratulated me in the Rep Collectors thread, then I leave no comment.

If it's a funny post, I'll leave something like "LOL!" or anything of that nature. I usually try to make a point as to why the rep was pertinent for that post.

I really got to find some new initials, though.

My thoughts exactly.

i find it funny that people send bad rep when they take it too seriously when a bit of sattire is in the order.

or if i can spell properly :D

I always leave a comment when I rep someone.

Usually when I see the member make a great post I can't rep them because I haven't spread rep around.

So when ever I'm able to rep that member again I usually leave them this comment:

" Spreading The Rep :yesyes: "
