first off i want to THANK YOU so much for taking the time to write this, it is much appreciated! you seem extremely logical... i'm going to bring up i couple of points that may have not been taken in to consideration. so look at my comments on the below post. xoxo
i absolutely agree with medical professionals treating us with reactions to disease instead of preventing... i also believe a monstrous amount of health problems can be cured through what mother nature provides at a very small fraction of the price with no side effects... example: read the book "Superfoods" by david wolfe
as far as fast food goes, for families that are struggling it's actually cheaper to feed the whole bunch with a pizza, KFC bucket, value taco pack at Taco Bell, or the value menu at McDonald's... not to mention food stamps aren't accepted of Farmers Market... labels, read below...
actually, this is my thread, and i requested the topic to be talked about :crowdgrin
i understand completely what you mean with reading labels, BUT
1. LABELS CAN BE EXTREMELY MISLEADING
2. CERTAIN INGREDIENTS NAMES CAN BE CHANGED TO NUMEROUS DIFFERENT THINGS WHEN PEOPLE CATCH ON THAT IT'S BAD example: EVERYONE KNOWS CORN SYRUP IS BAD, WELL KNOW THEY ARE CALLING IT CORN SUGAR INSTEAD WHICH SOUNDS MORE NATURAL AND NOT SO BAD, BUT IT'S THE EXACT SAME THING
3. SOMETHINGS HAVE FANCY LONG NAMES WHEN REALLY THEY SHOULD KEEP IT SIMPLE AND CALL IT LARD, WHO KNOWS WHAT SOME OF THOSE WORDS MEAN
and..............
what about parents like mine that didn't by a lot of stuff that was packaged, but deep fry stuff... i'm talking chicken fried steak, fried chicken, fried corn, fried green beans, or baked casseroles in oil... nothing healthy about that
to further that note- me and my brother have never had a problem with weight and never worked out aside from fun activities. i always said to myself that it was fine to eat how i did because i never gained weight and had no major health problems, yet! i grew up eating that way so why stop UNTIL i see side effects from it...
i started learning about and trying healthy foods a few years ago and i can tell a difference! i feel better, more energy, don't need 10 hours of sleep, my skin glows, my hair and nails grow shinier and faster.... it's the best thing i ever did
