It's a good guess, but not correct. Anything someone says has to be either a lie or the truth. There is nothing in between.

Funny guys, but incorrect. It's time to move on, so: he said "I will be shot". If he were shot it would be the truth, and if he were hanged it would be a lie, so they let him go.

Next:
A large truck is crossing a bridge 1 mile long. The bridge can only hold 14000 lbs, which is the exact weight of the truck. The truck makes it half way across the bridge and stops. A bird lands on the truck. Does the bridge collapse? Give a reason.

half a mile before stopping, it consumed some fuel, more than
the weight of the bird (except if the bird was an eagle!!!)
so the overall weight of the truck and the bird was less than 14000lbs

I think I know what are you getting at. I'm not really interested in getting into a philisophical debate with a quote from a cartoon. I admit the point of these quizzes is to inspire thinking. However, we do not come up with them, we just post them and try to have some fun. Remember, it's just a game. Do your best to get the "answer".

Nonetheless, you did put a lot thought into your last posts, so I think you deserve a little something for your efforts.

here's another:
4 people (A,B,C and D) need to cross a bridge in 17 or less minutes...
the bridge can be crossed only by two persons each time and the time that
each one needs to cross it is:
> A needs 1 min
> B needs 2 min
> C needs 5 min
> D needs 10 min
it's dark and they have only one torch to light the passage
so every time that two of them cross the bridge, they must walk together
and when they reach the other side, one of them must go back to give the torch to the others (without it they can't see anything!!!)

is it possible for all of them to cross the bridge in 17 or less minutes???

No. This is the quickest way I could think of and it takes 19min.

A and D go: 10 min.
A returns: 1 min.
total: 11 min.

A and C go: 5 min.
A returns: 1 min.
total: 6+11= 17 min.

A and B go: 2 min.
Total: 17+2= 19 min.
