Prostitutes and Porn stars...Is their really a difference?

I'm just amused that a guy who would call someone out on being "stupid" and poke fun at the NASCAR crowd doesn't know the difference between "There" and "Their".

This is what happens when we have a show about a family of pigs on "The *Learning* Channel". It starts there...

WOW...I've got the spelling and grammar police in on this thread...your momma would be so proud.
I never poked fun of the NASCAR crowd at all.

I understand what separates the two 'legally' and VERY technically speaking....I get the spin.
But in the real world....say, morally speaking, do you see a difference personally?
Let me throw you for a loop.
If I hired and paid a hooker for sex, shot video of it and sold said video on a website is she now a porn star and not a hooker? Did she perform the duty of a hooker or a porn star?

If she agreed to the video being shot with the intention of it being sold, that makes her a porn star. Now, if a prostitute does not agree to these terms, then discovers that a video is shot and distributed without her knowledge, then that is a violation of the agreement. She intended to stay a prostitute. Keep all activities private between provider and recipient.

I'm fully aware this question will offend people that try to get offended.

But I'm curious how the line between the two is blurred in some peoples eyes.
My understanding in a nutshell without getting trivial:
Hookers fuck strictly for money and will fuck almost anyone with X amount of cash.
Porn stars fuck for money as well but also for the expression of "art". They can be also be a little pickier with with who they will fuck and they always fuck people that are "tested" and meet "strict" rules of compliance...haha

Please note:
I'm thankful and support hookers and pornstars...god bless them both.

Now go ahead and LET IT RIP!

Back on topic: A prostitute might fuck you, Briana Lee won't.

Mr. Daystar

In a bell tower, watching you through cross hairs.
Porn stars don't get paid for having sex...they get paid for letting someone film it.

If you want to really find out the difference, go find a porn star, and offer her $50 for a hummer...see what happens.

nah... no real difference I've known plenty of pornstars that do escorting, and plenty of prostitutes that did a porn scene here and there...it's all the same... just sex for money..the only difference is that porn sex is supposed to be simulated sex...but its not, it's real sex with just enough fakeness mixed in to make most of it suck ..In fact alot of former porn girls choose prostituting over porn because it's less of a hassle.

Dude, you're way to real and rational...can't you see we had a good thing going with all the semantics?

LOL...It's all good as far as i'm concerned...some girls want to pursue fame...they are exhibitionists and like attention and to be watched/filmed, while some girls like to be discreet and make alot of tax free loot...some girls have a little bit of both in them...there are alot of semantical differences and points inbetween, but the bottom line is they all basically have sex for money...no big deal ... I don't think either is better or worse than the other... I love them both...as long as there are civilizations of people on earth some will have sex for money...always have, alway will...

You're right, it is all good.
I'm a huge fan of both professions. I just find it interesting to see how some people will 're-package' either profession to distance it from the other when they are nearly 100% identical.
I know a girl that has done porn and a girl that has "escorted".
The girl that has done porn says: "Hookers are so disgusting to just fuck some strange guy off the street."
The girl that has "escorted" says: "Eww, I would never do porn; they allow a group of people to watch them fuck someone then video tape it for their dad to stumble upon it someday."

I love the "higher regard" debate.

Yes...that's a very penetrating observation, and I too find the "higher regard" debate very interesting ....and also somewhat amusing !

At the end of the day, they're both fucking for money so I can see why its hard to differentiate. But there are differences between both careers that would separate the two. One- prostitutes are providing a service for ONE person, and pornstars are providing a tangible good for countless people. They are entirely different careers in most aspects of it. Penis inside vagina shouldn't dictate what your career title is, because every other aspect of the careers are different.

Is a fireman the same as a paramedic simply because they both save lives? I don't think so.

Is the porn star "providing a tangible good for countless people" or is the production company providing that good?
Here's a closer ANALogy:
A bikini model is paid to do a photo shoot, only the model and the photographer are present and the photos are not sold and only used for the photog's portfolio.
Another swimsuit model is paid for a photo shoot with the photographer but this time the photog sells the photos and the photos are published in the Victoria's Secret catalog.

Were they both models?
Did THEY, the models really provide a different service?
OR, did the photog have a different use for the exact same service rendered by the models?

My point is; can the use of the exact same service provided be the determining factor of 'different' professions. OR, is is merely a title change?

What about all the movies and or scenes shot that never made it to tape for whatever the reason....lack of funds, lack of distribution..etc.
Did those "porn stars" featured in those scenes now perform the duties of a prostitute because the sexual act was not shared with millions?

Honestly, you can't really re-package this....only put a spin on it.
End use for services rendered does not change the service you provide.

P.S. -
Firemen and paramedics perform entirely different duties. Saving lives is a byproduct of the duties they provide.

The answer is no. Bikini model shoots a private session just to be in the portfolio. That's it. They are not to be published. If they end up in a Victoria Secrets catalog then she can say that they are not authorized to do so.

I see what point you want to make so I will ask a similar question. A model on a cam does her act and you pay her there to do certain things for you to get off and others are watching. She comes to your house for a bachelor party and does the same thing. Is she a prostitute?
