Prince Harry's Nazi "Indiscretion"

once again people are attaching too much importance to it. the swastika is only a symbol, for christ's sake. and it wasn't even an invention of the nazis. the hindus and buddhists used that sign (it stands for happiness and contentment) long before hitler decided to copy and abuse it for his ill agenda. we will never get past history if we keep associating the horrors of the 3rd reich with a mere symbol.
a counter-example: i could just as much start to associate the cross of christianity with the bloodshed of the crusades in the dark ages, or the witch trials. yet we consider the cross a sign of love and peace.
it's all dependent on interpretation and your personal point of view. you see what you want to see.

Can't imagine him like that... perhaps 'incandescent with apathy'
Yeah, more like it.

We Brits have a funny sense of humour. There's a comedien called Freddy Starr who dresses up as Hitler in some of his sketches, and another one called Stan Boardman who always tells jokes abouth the Germans, but nothing is ever said because it's tongue in cheek humour.

You'll find plenty of Nazi fancy dress costumes at many fancy dress shops up and down the country, and if the average Joe went to a party dressed in one, nothing would be said. However, this is Prince Harry we're talking about. The Prince who's been caught getting pissed, smoking dope and fighting with photographers.

The boy has made a huge mistake and he knows it, but at the time he probably didn't think what an uproar it would cause. But the point i'm trying to make is that the British public are a fickle bunch. We like to make jokes about the war and laugh at people who dress up as Hitler, but as soon as a member of the Royal family is photographed at a PRIVATE party in a fancy dress costume, we ask for blood.

I'm not saying what Harry did was right, i'm just saying it's a case of double standards.

Double standards or not,He is a member of the royal family,he has a life we will never know.like everything there will be ups and downs but i bet you he would never swap it for a normal life.he is not a kid he is 20.all this stuff about him having a laught and fun etc well that dosnt wash.he is not some normal person and he isnt posh or Becks he is royalty and he has responsibilty and should know better and its about time he had a damn good hard look at himself and start to take his role more seriously.

After all the attention he's got after he lost his mother i bet you sometimes he does wish he could swap it for a normal life. And his brother more so

i agree. it must be horrible to be "haunted" by the medias in such an intense way. let me put it this way: i would NEVER EVER swap with either of them. i appreciate my privacy, and value it more than any fame or money in the world.

He's a potential heir to the throne, Brino, and he should not be walking around like a total wanker (sorry, WankerCounty) with a Nazi swastika armband in a WWII German soldier's outfit, carrying a cocktail and smoking a cigarette. What a dumbass he is!!! I bet he got a "Royal Asskicking" when the story broke!

LMAO

Now this is just my opinion but being the heir to the throne of England is totally pointless. I'm inclined to believe that, just like Paris Hilton, he's famous for doing nothing and being a whore to the people. :2 cents: :D

I agree, Brino. The concept of "royalty" is archaic, to me, and way past its social relevance or utility. Still, many countries of the world embrace their "royals," and as a member of that group, it's the prince's responsibility to not degrade his "position." He continually makes an ass of himself, and he's not a child anymore. Time to grow up... LOL

Well.... if he went around wanking, the stories in the newspapers would not involve any pictures, would they? :1orglaugh
It would have been the better thing to, anyway.

Another reason to get rid of outdated monarchies like the rest of the modern world has.

monarchy is not the problem. the tabloid medias are ! they've changed the way we see celebrities. first they make us look up to them, and then they blow them into little bits - it's always the same procedure.
let the people have their monarchies, if it makes them happy. but i think it's none of our business what stupid things young Harry does in his private life.
we usually respect each others privacy, but when celebs make a faux pas, we jump on them like a pack of starving wolves. i detest such sensation mongering.

I for oe could'nt give a shit, let's face it he's not the first person in the world to ever wear a nazi unifrom for a party, I know that sounds like a bold statement but it's ture. Some people are just too easily offened and just need to shut the fuck up and relax
