Re: Pornstars without makeup.
Often I see guys talking about how they either love women and girls with heaps of makeup (and seem to HATE natural faces) or love them "without" makeup when what they actually seem to mean the time majority is light and/or natural makeup, and it makes me sad. I feel like as a society we have almost forgotten what natural human peeps look like.
A similar photo series to the OP link was posted by LV (high couture fashion label) of their models, some of whom I'm sure you will recognize.
LINK . There was a
huge shit storm when that picture was posted about how the models looked 'inhuman', 'filthy', 'fugly', etc etc without makeup. Makes you think, when women considered amongst (conventionally) the worlds most beauties are viewed as disgusting, ugly, feral, unhygienic and gross (or at best 'average') simply because they weren't wearing makeup well... a lot of things.
I think this is a wonderful representation of the unrealistic standards society places on women at the same time as having almost no idea of what it takes to fit into certain standards. Fat lot of hope for the average woman should she dare not spend
hundreds of dollars a year and hours upon hours grooming, and having to deal with people get shitty at the amount of time it often takes to do full hair and full makeup. (Let alone if you have to do it every day for work). It's not just an option of 'well if they don't want to wear makeup they just shouldn't' or 'women shouldn't be so vain'. When you are considered fugly, lazy, unclean, unkempt and gross if you don't it's not that easy because being considered those negative things has big impacts.
We all look different without makeup. Different, natural, with, without makeup =/= ugly. Someone doesn't look like a 'meth head' or junkie because they have dark circles around their eyes, or is a train wreck because they don't have 10 inches of foundation on with their eyes smothered in potions to make them look huge and doll-like. They just look like
people.
It's well and good to prefer plastic fantastic look but I think people need to recognized that we are biased towards one image of beauty by multiple multi billion dollar industries. We all have personal prefs and thats ok, but we don't need to be jerks about it and shame, mock, heckle or harass people who we don't find attractive. In saying all this btw I have no problem with people who like makeup / body mods. There is nothing wrong with it at all! (See video for my opinions of makeup, body mods etc), but if you think regular people looking like actual humans in their natural state is inherently gross, unclean (when it's actually clean that is), or weird... you may need a reality check and some help because humans are humans (unless you aren't human... *suspicious*)
