Could be. The first drink I was ever served was by my grandmother when I was like 13. A Gin and Tonic. I didn't start having issues with the firewater until probably 23/24.

My parents started with wine on a soother when I was like 3 months old. Kids in my family always go to try whatever alcohol my parents/grandparents had. I wont say I never got totally drunk as I aged but I knew my limits and I knew better than to drive.

Yeah, my sisters ex was an exchange student to Germany and his homestay would give him jiggers if he ever had a stomach ache. But I can't say that Germany aren't a bunch of drunkards, despite if you can see over the stool you can be served there. :1orglaugh

I feel drinking depends on the maturity level. That's why the young tend to drink for the effect/high rather than simply enjoying it and having the buzz as a delightful add on. As one gets older they tend to enjoy the flavor, scent, and still the buzz, but not to the point they are getting smashed.

Of course there are alcoholics from 13 all the way up to 80-year-olds. It all falls down on why are drinking in the first place. People make many excuses to do reckless things in life and drinking is the easiest thing to do.

I want to get more into it but afraid I would be generalizing. I will leave it at that.

Yeah. That's too stiff a sentence for such a crime. Maybe he can teleport outside of the jail? j/k You have my support, man.

Funny stuff, some shithead commits a whole bunch of crimes and we should for some reason feel sorry for him.

Maybe he will be of legal age when he gets out, one problem solved.

Sounds like any support he needs is psychiatric or AA.

Man, AA can be a really painful experience. It's like, let's all sit and have a group hug as we listen to guys who throw everything in their sorry existence away for drink. I was forced to do that shit after my d-dub. Ugh. Never again.

Please explain to me what a "typical Yank overreaction" might be.

Don't go there.:o I for one am embarrassed that there are far tooooo many examples of this.

This is not just someone, it's an under aged kid getting drunk and acting like a dumb ass.

Or is that typical to you as well?

Unfortunate as it is............and point taken. And "Yank" stereotype comment put aside.

Anyways, I hope the youngster learns his lesson.
