The best Pizza I have ever had in my life is right here in Buffalo NY. There are 15-20 Pizzerias that make more amazing Pizza than you will ever find in Chicago or NYC, and it's very different to both. It's just divine. You have to try it to know what I mean. The best.

Hey Fox, what are the Buffalo places? I'm from there originally and still visit my family there so I'm curious which you think are the best. I know you mentioned Imperial which I've never tried but what others?

Zip's Wiseguys on Hertel.
Imperial Pizza in South Buffalo.
TNT in Tonawanda.
Carbone's in Lovejoy.
Bonetti's on Walden.
Avenue is pretty good, they're everywhere.
Just Pizza is pretty good, they're everywhere.
Lovejoy Pizza is good, rated best in Buffalo, not my fave.
Abbott Pizza is good, not my fave.
Franco's can be really good but not always.
Pizza Junction in North Tonawanda, very different but amazing.

I recommend trying all of them, but you can't go wrong with the first 3 I mentioned.

There are probably a dozen more amazing ones that I don't know the names of.

For wings, people will tell you Anchor Bar or Duff's, cause they are the famous 2, but I recommend going almost anywhere OTHER than those two. Zip's Wiseguys probably has the best wings in town - definitely the best charbroiled BBQ wings in town, hands down. For traditional Buffalo wings, I can think of 5 or 6 places, but Zip's is another good one, and there's a couple of good ones near my house in Amherst, and also the wings at Imperial and Carbone's are very good. Jim's Steak Out also has excellent wings and some of the best subs in town, and they have 8 locations and are open til 4am or 5am every day.

Thanks. We'll have to give those a try. Usually when we go to Buffalo we just get our Mighty fix or go to Ted's but a decent pizza would be worth doing. I actually like Duff's wings (way better than anything we have in Rochester) but my favorites were at the Wilkeson Pub at UB when I went there but I'm sure they're different now. I agree about Anchor Bar being more hype than anything though. One other pizza place my father was always a big fan of, Bocce on Bailey in Amherst (near Sheridan). It's been more than 15 years since I've had them, though.

Well Ms. Fox the reason I didnt mention italian is because late in the 19th century Italians went to NY and continued the Italian style of pizza making.
Vote NY if you are into Italian style pizza.

Sorry madam if you didnt understand the question

take Fox's advice. . . Giordano's Deep Dish in Chicago is frickin awesome!!!

Giordano's is the bomb! Their thin crust is really good too.

Also,Lou Malnati's and Gino's East are fucking great.

Proper Italian pizza. Not the UK or USA shit... a proper Italian one. I've had all three.

That's three voted for Giordano's! And yes, Lou Malnati's and Gino's East are great too. Now that we know that if you're in Chicago and want Pizza, you have to try some Giordano's, well...

Can we come up with a consensus for what the best pizza place in the NYNJ area is? Anyone have any clues?

I'll be visiting 200 North American cities on my next tour, so any advice whatsoever on the best pizza place in your town will be very much appreciated!

And I think that there in lies the problem with NYC pizza. There is no way to narrow it down to even three like I've done with Chicago's pizza.Probably because NY is such a big city and so spread out, that you can't get all of those people to agree on anything.

Pizzeria Regina in the North End of Boston is the place where I've had the best pizza in my life. Thin crust. Fucking delicious.

Theres a "local" place here "Deschners" that is awesome....a medium has about 5lbs of toppings no matter what is put on it, and thick crust
