Its take more than a bunch of guys holding *** to have a militia. A militia is organised, it has some leaders.
I'm not talking about government, i'm talking about having in erach city or county someone who, in case the militia would be taking arms, would take command. He could be elected among the milicians, by themselves...

To not allow guns by the fed takes away the state's rights. It is clearly defined. These state militias can be called up by the governor under his direction as commander in chief.

Yes I was referring to the guard. But that ties in with the states rights and their control over guns rather than the feds.

He posted this because it is a political topic and this is the political subsection of the FreeOnes Talk Forum. It has been clear for at least three decades that *** owners and 2nd Amendment advocates welcome a two-sided debate regarding legal ownwership of firearms as defined by out Bill of Rights. With the advent of cable/satellite TV, we have achieved this. The American people have been the beneficiary of fair portrayal of *** ownership by everyday citizens. And yet, the anti-*** crowd sticks with their age-old, stale tactics. In this case, constant interruption, obfuscation and demeaning behavior. This is, in fact, why the anti-*** side has been losing ground and will continue to do so. The game has changed, their tactics have not.

BSS posted this thread for the same reason I keep posting threads regarding the hypocrisy and double-standards of one Mitt Romney: Because we have a place to share them and we feel that doing so is relevant to the overall political discussion.

I should not have referred to the author/interviewee in that manner. I withdraw those comments.

However, the fact remains that this person was outmatched. I think the view that the interviewer somehow "lost it" is a result of dissatisfaction about this.

As Sean Connery said in Finding Forrester, "Writers write so readers can read." Whether or not the author was geared for giving an on-air interview, the relevance of the overall topic remains the same.

It's just like my ***** told me when I was a young boy. Opinions are like assholes. Everybody's got one. One of the things that I learned studying media in college was that all news reporting has some sort of bias built into it. Why? Because we all have a certain take on any situation. Even the most esteemed news journalists ever to put a pen to paper have had their slant if you study their history of reporting. Like Mayhem (the pinko communist that he is) said, the media outlets have opened up to create avenues of discussion about todays topics. That is a good thing. The problem is that opinion shows put on a mask of being news shows and there are folks that consider these news shows. All it is is point counterpoint.

Little was to be known from those early days of cable that we would gobble this **** up. The big 3 networks got destroyed by this and have to rely upon paid programming to fill their overnight and weekend hours for revenue. They are not the only show in town anymore. You see a story and will see it again on other venues. Gravitate towards these outlets that support your opinion. The success of these shows does not lay in the content that they deliver. It is how it is being delivered. The Morgans and Maddows and Hannitys and Rushs are entertainers, not news people. But some seem to think so and spew out their God spoken words.
