Palin Defends Laura Schlessinger. The Country Mourns.

^
Should women be against the Constitution? I would say pre-1920, YES! I would also recommend to the Guvnor that when she's out on the campaign trail, trying to cling to that Constitution-lover rhetoric, that she recognize it was/is/has been a flawed document since the wig wearers wrote it :hatsoff:

As to the second thing....are you really trying to compare Palin quitting the Governorship to become a celebrity with Obama leaving the Senate to become president????

 Nice one meester

Yes. She is a perfect illustration at how warped, weak and asinine the American political system has become. She was once the #2 on the Republican ballot for president :surprise: I still have a hard time believing it. When someone quits and abandons his/her constituents, and somehow becomes more powerful politically... I have a hard time understanding that.

The system is flawed.

It's great that Sarah Palin loves the Constitution so much--the very document which forbade her female ancestors from taking part in the burgeoning Republic...

So by that reasoning, you believe that all women should be against the Constitution? :dunno:

Forget it. I guess you answered my question in a post further down in the thread. I don't buy your theory about the Constitution being a flawed document, but whatever. We don't agree on much anyway. :)

Palin still inserting herself in the national scene. So she's still fair game right GOPers....?

Sure. Let's just hope the "game" is something a little more substantive than just calling her names and saying she is stupid.

But she is stupid. I mean really, really stoopid. How are we supposed to overlook that? It's like a hunchback competing on Dancing with the Stars. You can either feign politeness or you can just come right out and say, "Yo hunchback, you can't fuckin' dance. Get off the stage."

Palin defending Laura? Palin is the type that Laura detests. She's a working mother (no mother should work until a child is 18! -- Laura), whose bimbo daughter didn't have a enough sense to use birth control and got pregnant by a lazy young man who won't marry the girl. Palin and her whole family just don't make the bar Laura set? They're now friends? Politics does make for strange bedfellows.

I was thinking the same thing...

And honestly, I wish they both would go away. Our political "dialogue" in the US has sunk so low these days it saddens me. Where are the smart people with facts? Not many in the media these days... just namecalling and smearing.:2 cents:

Saying she's stupid usually comes after citing her actions or words which back it up.

Schlessinger's rights were not infringed upon in the LEAST.

Everyone has the right to speak their mind (however wisely or stupidly), and others have the right to respond/react (however wisely or stupidly).

No one even attempted to force her to shut up (and btw, a boycott would not qualify as such) - and remember, what the freedom of speech really refers to is the GOVERNMENT trying to shut people up. Nothing of this sort occurred, no matter how Schlessinger or Palin try to play this as a case of victimization.

Bullshit Deluxe, this is.

I think people are incorrectly casting this as a racist issue or not. It's not a racism issue per se. The concern I suppose some have has more to do with her suggesting it's okay to use terms in a racist manner just because others use it in a different context.

She may be right or she may be wrong. However, she doesn't simply answer for herself...she answers for the people who employ her as well.

Master Yoda?

and that would be fine, justified even.
but.............
the caller wasn't offended by her suggestion, it was her use of the word
( the caller even said that)
and the media said nothing of her suggestion, it was her use of the word.
I wish most people were actually upset about her point, which wasn't clear really because the conversation got out of control due to both the host and the caller.
but sadly most people are just upset over the fact that she said the word.
and we all know why.

And palin needs to disappear.

You're right. It was the use of the word which garnered much of the anger.

The reason why I believe is because in the context of her suggesting it was okay for it to be used in a racist manner because others use it in a different manner...her repeating it over and over again appeared gratuitous with the intent of furthering her point that it was ok.

Ugh, enough with the whole "making sense" thing, man.

People act like Laura was some grand target. Before this shit went down, who the fuck was paying attention to Laura?? You listen to Laura when you're driving through 80 miles of cornfields and WRDNK 1045's Conway Twitty Afternoon Trifecta reception is too poor to suffer through.

agreed.

:sing:"oh, sweet mystery of life at last I've found you" :sing:

and she had no reason to keep repeating it.
she knew what she was doing, either she wanted the publicity or she ain't too smart.

Hmm. Really? Let's count the ways...

1. That whole slavery thing.
2. That whole women thing.
3. Creation of the Senate--it was envisioned as nothing more than a pension earning opportunity for the wealthy American Squirearchy when they became too old to farm or it was a nice haven for ex-presidents/statesmen to ride off in the sunset, protecting their own interests...
4. Lifetime membership for SCOTUS
5. Elections every other goddamn year.

Shall I go on?

of course, the constitution is flawed that's why the ability to amend it was included and every single political party has sought to amend the constitution since, in a manner which pleased them...perhaps that's a flaw, as to palin and schlessinger they seem to be two peas in a pod after all i believe the good doctor resigned to get her first amendment rights back
