Ozzy Osbourne....Black Sabbath

Say what you want about him but at 64, The Prince Of Darkness is back with Sabbath, a brand new studio album titled 13 and a tour to go with it. Love it, love it, love it................ Never too old to rock 'n' roll !

Love Sabbath, Love Ozzy.........but haven't thought much of anything either has done since Diary of a Madman and Mob Rules.

Unfortunately, while one can't be too old for rock and roll one's brain can be too drug addled and generally too incoherent for it.

Ozzy's success after Sabbath can be credited to Sharon's managerial skills and surrounding himself with virtuoso musicians.,

The last good album Ozzy recorded with Sabbath was Technical Ecstasy.

Ozziy's voice is what it is. Distinctive and haunting. Perfect for heavy metal.

I also liked the Ronnie Dio era of Sabbath. Heaven and Hell blew my mind when it was released and a few of us at the time were like "Ozzy who?"

Later it became apparent what a force Ozzy was for heavy metal and will always deserve to have the title of Grandfather of the genre.

Ozzy brought us Blizzard of Ozz, Diary of a Madman and Randy Rhoads Tribute.

For these, I will shall remain forever grateful.

BUT.......Ozzy's voice is just not near what it was when he was younger, of course.

Credit Rick Rubin and his production on the new Sabbath album for "accentuating" his voice.

Music has no age limits, but it is somehow strange if teens go to listen to band whose members are about seventy years old.
