Re: Online poker sites just got indicted... hope you guys dont have any $$$ in your a
I just heard on CNBC the top 3 sites, Full Tilt, PokerStars, and Absolute, had an estimate combined value of $30 billion on thursday night, and are now worth less than half of that. ESPN (disney) earned over $20 million annually from Full Tilt alone. Thousands of US citizens make a living playing online poker and putting the money they earn back in the economy. Now those who really want to put their skills to work may move to other countries where the game is legal. Full Tilt, PokerStars, etc will put their ad money out of the US and put it where they can still sell their services.
So in a time where the US is running a $14 TRILLION deficit, the feds are voluntarily kicking out citizens, ESPN and many other TV shows (I see full tilt ads everywhere) 100s of millions in ad revenue, and sending that incredibly lucrative potential tax base to somewhere else. But they'll give almost a trillion dollars to financial companies that are both too stupid and too criminal to run at a fucking profit.
Words cannot describe just how much I hate my government.
