Just what I want, to see Jar-Jar Binks in 3D. If I wanted to see an annoying character coming out of a screen at me, I'd watch Jimmy Fallon's late-night t.v. show. I guess, at least, when A New Hope comes out, we'll finally find out if Han or Greedo shot first. If Han did, we'll all be dead in the theaters.
I seriously don't understand the whole fascination with 3D in movies. Its only purpose now is to squeeze more money out of production and ticket prices, it adds absolutely nothing to the main story or the overall impact of the movie, and don't give me that whole "Avatar is the best movie ever made based on box office returns" crap. It's a recycled plot that's been done many, many times before, the only new thing about it is that the technology that was used to make it now allows humans to look like rampaging Smurfs. "Clash of the Titans" was another attempt, but a lame remake and another movie to try and draw in the crowd by making occasional uses of allowing arrows/swords to come out at the audience. The practice of 3D in movies shouldn't be put in movies until it's perfected, by which I mean that it doesn't just pop out at certain times to shock the audience, it's seamlessly used throughout the story but isn't a main drawing point, nor something that detracts from the story.
Sorry for the rant, I'm a film major and find myself easily disgusted with how Hollywood is jumping on the next big thing, especially when I'm not a fan of it.

Not to mention on top of all this, EVERYTHING is suddenly becoming 3d, and I hate it. If I wanna watch a movie, I wanna sit down and enjoy it without having to wear goofy looking glasses.

Everyone that grew up loving the original Star Wars should organize a stoning of George Lucas. First it was the re-releases in the '90's, then it was eps. 1-3 and now this 3-d garbage. I seriously think the man is nothing but a greedy, self-obsessed moron.

I don't see how anyone could honestly blame George Lucas for this. He put out a product that made him money and continues to make him money. That's the name of the game.
The people to blame are the idiots who keep buying a ticket to contribute to his wealth. If everyone on the planet decided not to go see the re-releases then that would be a big clue that no one wants this but you know that's not gonna happen.
The re-releases will sell and a lot of the people who are saying they won't watch them are gonna be the first in line for pre-order tickets. How do I know they'll be in line? They're the same people who said they hated the prequels but continued to see each one of them in the theater.

And there's a really easy solution to this: DON'T GO SEE THE FUCKING MOVIES WHEN THEY ARE RELEASED. If there is an ad on tv, for them then change the fucking channel or turn away. If there is an ad for them on the Interwebs then click a link that takes you away. if your "friends"won;t stop talking about the movies, then get new friends.

I think Star Wars 3D is a terrible idea too. I'm not going to whine about it, or say Lucas is a whore - he's making money, and that's something most of us try to do. Don't shit on him for that.

So did I actually, and I much prefer the ending celebration song in that one over the original.
I saw Clash of the Titans in 2D and thought it was shit. I could only imagine how bad the 3D version was. They added the 3D after the movie was completed so that they could ride the wave of Avatar. The only thing was Avatar was made from the get go to be a 3D movie while Clash and a lot of these other movies were not.
