Fuck me when I wake up to shitty news like this. Can't I go back to bed and wake up to news that we've started a war with North Korea and Chris Cornell is still alive?

I grew up listening to Soundgarden; one of my favorite groups and I was so pumped that they were making another album after King Animal. Even if they replace him (like AIC did with Layne Staley), it won't be the same. Fuck.

Rock and roll lost a cotdamn American treasure.

Truth!

I met former Queensryche singer Geoff Tate a few years back and asked him who his favorite singer is. Without hesitation he said "Chris Cornell".

This is a huge loss for people who love good music everywhere.

That is sad news. And he was born in 1964, too!

Dammit.

An evening of Soundgarden and a couple of glasses of wine for me. The first time I saw Soundgarden was back in 1991 at Bristol Bierkeller. Fuck me I was young :) Mental night though.

I remember seeing the video for "Loud Love" and buying their first cd the week it was released.Their first cd was some heavy shit.
Chris seemed to be a guy who had it together, too.RIP

Welcome to Heaven.

Temple of the Dog was the only time I ever got to see Chris perform. I never did get around to actually seeing Sound Garden.

Major Crimes? Shiiiit.
RIP Chris. Been a fan of Soundgarden, Audioslave, Temple of the Dog and his solo stuff since I was 13 and have seen both Soundgarden and his solo stuff in concert on a few occasions. Soundgarden is one of my favorite bands of all time and Chris is one of my favorite vocalists of all time. In all honesty it just took me by surprise when I heard Chris was gone because it just came out of left field. I remember about 18 months ago I saw Cornell in concert at around the same time that Scott Weiland of Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver overdosed and I just remember thinking this ain't really a surprise as it was a case of Scott's gonna fatally OD someday it was never a case of if but when whilst Chris passing away as he did was just really unexpected. Regardless Chris was a legend!
