Awesome game by the Flyers this afternoon beating the Rangers 5-3. It had everything that Bettman has been trying to rid of the last season and a half. There was tons of hitting, fights, and extra stuff after the whistle. They were hammering Jagr every chance they got. It was so much more fun to watch than some boring Montreal/Buffalo game where there's no physicality and it's just up and down for 60 minutes. The Flyers showed they can win without Peter Forsberg. It looked like the Broad Street Bullies again. Peter Forsberg I say good riddance. You weren't able to get the Flyers to play the way they did today.

Where in the hell can I watch this stuff? I was a huge hockey fan and then the lockout happened and I haven't seen a game on TV since... WTF. Is it not a major sport in the US anymore?

Montreal is FINISHED! Huet is out for the season, the top guns are all struggling, and Aebisher is looking like, well, a backup goaltender.

we won tonight, against Columbus... but still, they need the boost that comes from a win, plus koivu and ryder scoring and higgins netting an assist

...Yeah, the US TV deals went in the crapper, and now all you really have is versus and the NBC game of the week

Luckily I live in Canada, we live and breathe hockey

(sorry to rub it in)

You know..Halak looked pretty good and comfortable in goal for this being his first NHL start.

When we need Pittsburgh to help us (Montreal) they don't win and now Islanders have 66pts like us but they have one game in hand.
Btw, Crosby did 4 assists, he has now 95pts:eek:

Uhhh....don't look now but here come the Blues. They are quietly sneaking up on a possible playoff spot after being the worst team in the league for much of the year. Kudos to Andy Murray for turning them around since Davidson fired Mike Kitchen.

Yeah they have been good since the all-star break and they definitely have a shot at the playoffs , provided they don't trade all their good players at the deadline . But I have to admit , i'm more interested in my team winning their division , it's gonna be a crazy finish with atlanta and carolina .

ugh I hate the sabres so much. It's not just the team either. I hate their city, their fans, their uniforms, the announcers, the kids that sell popcorn, the zamboni driver, and it even goes down the parking lot attendants. I simply want them out of the league before they're allowed to win the cup.

Yes that division is a dogfight right now. Any of those 3 teams could win it.

As for the Blues (who don't get no love from nobody), it is mind-boggling to think of how they have turned things around. On December 19, the Blues had the worst record in the NHL at 7-19-6 and had just lost a franchise-record 11 games in a row. Since then, they have gone 19-7-3 under new head coach Andy Murray. It's an unbelievable turnaround but from what I hear they are going to try to move Tkachuk and Guerin before the trade deadline so it may be too late for this year. Things are sure looking promising though! Maybe we can get some hot prospects for KT and Guerin.
