Nikkala made me do it!
Montreal for the playoff! They have to win vs Toronto tomorrow!
Safe to assume that will be the main HNIC game? :dunno:

BTW, Sens vs Pens in the first round, home ice to be decided tomorrow (Sens at Bruins, Rags at Guins).

I see Detroit is up there in points. It looks like they will be condemned to another first round playoff exit now because of that. :1orglaugh

Sabres will play either Nashville or Anaheim for the Stanley Cup

Tampa Bay will not beat New Jersey. I may totally dislike everything about Marty B and NJD but even I know it's insane to pick against them when it's April. The Sabres will not play for the cup. I'm not going on my hatred for them either. It's a fact that the Presidents Trophy winner rarely goes very far in the playoffs let alone become Stanley Cup champ. As long as nobody in the east comes out ontop I'll be thrilled. I'm going to take the 8th seeded Flames to win it all aganst the Penguins.

I went and looked up the President Trophy winners since 1986 and only 6 teams have gone on to win the cup. I wouldn't crown the Sabres just yet.

Tampa won the season series against the devils 3-1 so even tough Brodeur gets better in the playoffs , he's not invincible and if the devils get behind a goal or two they won't be able to come back with the low scoring team they have . So Tampa has a good chance if they get good goaltending from holmqvist . :2 cents:

You can throw the season series right out the window as far as I'm concerned. NJ can come back anytime they want. I've seen them do it countless times against just about the whole eastern conference. Broduer and the Devils are a whole different animal in April.

They never managed to come back against Tampa Bay this year and if you look at their season record you'll see that they really aren't a team that makes comebacks very often . I do aggree that Brodeur plays even better in the playoffs so it's gonna be really tough to play against him for sure .

Season series record means absolutely nothing this time of year. You can sweep a team during the regular season and still only win 1 or 2 games against that same team in playoffs.

Exactly, regular season records have little meaning in the playoffs, also another factor is how teams ended the season, last year the Devils ended on fire and the Rangers ended on a skid, subsequently, the Devils swept the Rangers right out of the first round :nanner: ....so when it comes to the playoffs, all bets are off!!!

And also I remember last year when a team won 4-0 the series, they were not very good in the next series because they hadn't play for like a week sometimes.
