The Ottawa Senators picked up centerman Peter Nedved off waivers from the Philadelphia Flyers. Me being a huge Sens fan, I really don't know what to think of this pick up. Yeah we need a center because 3 of our 5 centerman are injured but Nedved is a -20 in 21 games with Phily:eek:

You guys are right, the injury bug has struck Ottawa big time this year, better luck next time

Viva Les Habitants!

Who hasn't been a -20 with Philly this year?

LOL every flyers players are minus something except for Zhitnik because he was with Islanders not too long ago & Fedoruk who was with Anaheim.

They're playing a little better as of late. They've picked up 3 straight wins. They're certainly not going to make the playoffs but if the team can keep building and getting better then they should be perfectly fine next season. I'm ok with not seeing em in the playoffs this year.

It's isn't Ottawa who took him it's the Oilers!

I think the important thing to remember is that while individual palyers records might be bad - it might also be a reflection of the team.

Meaning?

While XYZ might have a pathetic record with team ABC - doesn't necessarily follow that when XYZ joins team PRQ, he will play just as bad as he did with ABC.

Players need to know how to play as a team - stacking a team with all stars doesn't guarantee a win everytime ;)

cheers,
R

Dammit we lost 5-1 vs Washington but holy shit Toronto won 10-2 vs Boston ans Boston was leading 2-1 after the first period!

icerfan

Nikkala made me do it!
Penguins beat the Eastern Conference-leading Sabres Friday night, 4-2 in Buffalo. They're sooooo close this year - but they really need to get Eaton healthy, as they had a great October with him in the lineup (Cairns in the lineup will help, too). Hope they can keep this up!

Hey, does anyone know if Gary Thorne will be calling the games when NHL comes back on NBC next week? He's the best announcer in all of sports,in my opinion. He can make cup stacking exiting. He and Bill Clement were the best on ESPN.
