Obama trying to use US Soldiers as political football...

http://www.nypost.com/seven/09152008/postopinion/opedcolumnists/obama_tried_to_stall_gis_iraq_withdrawal_129150.htm

This pile of shit actually tried to STALL THE TROOP WITHDRAWAL he has been preaching about when he was on his little trip overseas in July.

Wanted them to make sure that they didn't start the troop drawdown until HE took office. What a sorry bastard. Absolute pile of human waste this son of a bitch is.

SCREAMING for immediate troop withdrawal and then pulling this shit.

What a piece of work this guy is. That arrogant son of a bitch is using soldiers for political gain. That prick wouldn't even GO to see troops once he found out he couldn't use them for a photo op.

The secret ingredient? MY BALLS
Obama insisted that Congress should be involved in negotiations on the status of US troops - and that it was in the interests of both sides not to have an agreement negotiated by the Bush administration in its "state of weakness and political confusion."

That makes sense to me. :dunno:

How? All the democrats have been screaming is that we need to bring home troops right now! We have to end this and stop the spending and on and on and on and on....

NOW all of a sudden we need to wait!?!?!?

No he's just looking to make HIMSELF look like a hero.

First of all, it's not like "the wait" would be 3 more years or something ridiculous. The new President will take office in a short number of months.

Secondly, he's right. Why have an unreliable staff of people (aka - the Bush regime) be responsible for pulling our troops out of Iraq? If I was him, I would be thinking the same exact way. I would much rather have a more reliable staff of people responsible for that action. If that means waiting a few more months, then so be it.

Funny how all of a sudden the republicans want to hurry along a troop withdrawal. Since they've been dead set against any type of timetable for withdrawal for years. Now an election is coming up and they wanna talk about getting the troops out.

So who's really using the soldiers as a political football??????? Three letters, G - O - P.

The original article seems very biased. According to this, from the news, (the TV video with the text below), the Bush proposal is to keep the number of troops basically intact until the new President takes office;

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/26621558/

Bush said Tuesday that he would keep the U.S. force strength in Iraq largely intact until the next president takes over and outlined what he called a "quiet surge" of additional American forces in Afghanistan. Obama fired back that the announcement means taxpayers "will continue to spend $10 billion a month in Iraq while the Iraqi government sits on a $79 billion surplus."

"In the absence of a timetable to remove our combat brigades, we will continue to give Iraq's leaders a blank check instead of pressing them to reconcile their differences," Obama said while campaigning in Ohio, a crucial swing state.

Yes I was just going to say didn't I hear Bush just announced troop levels would remain as they were till the new president came in.Which BTW Bush would tell ya is going to be McCain.Although its clear they still hate each other lol.Looks like the facts are back firing on ya and not helping again 86150.:1orglaugh

Or perhaps the press is beginning to turn on Obama.
This in the NY post? A very Democrat friendly paper for years......
To me this article and even this thread shows that we really don't know what Obamas plan is.
Hope? Change? Yes we can?
I don't know, and I don't think he does either.
One thing I believe is he'd better have a plan because mark my words if he is elected the terrorist and sunni shiite violence and chaos will increase significantly, probably get completely out of control.
There just waitin for us to finish digging our own grave.

Why do you think "terrorist and sunni shiite violence and chaos will increase significantly" if Obama is elected? What are you basing that assumption on? You're gut feeling or something?

And as far as what Obamas plans are. Here you go---> http://www.barackobama.com/pdf/ObamaBlueprintForChange.pdf
Lot of stuff to read there. 59 pages worth. In small print too. So I'm sure you'll find answers to your questions.

MR P if you want Obama's postion and plans on Iraq all you have to do is look it up on his web site.

That makes sense to me. :dunno:

If foreign policy were in the job bucket of congress perhaps. Best I can tell from my handy dandy pocket Constitution foreign policy is the sole job of the executive branch. They could defund and force an exit whenever they want but I don't think they have the power to force the opposite.

But, that being said. I don't buy this story for a second.

I completely agree. The fact that we were not attacked since 9/11 supports my assertion that the Bush administration has kept me safe from attack. I believe Obama, well intioned, would have a very weak circle of advisors in his new administration.

Well, seeing as Bush and McSame are happy to use the troops as cannon fodder, I'd have to say that there's a better chance of survival being a footbal.

Wrong. The NY Post is an outlet for the right wing. Owned by Rupert Murdoch, himself. Perhaps you are thinking of the NY Times?

The violence has already begun to shift to Afghanistan. This past month was the deadliest for Americans since 2001. Obama has said repeatedly that he plans to move at least two divisions to Afghanistan and focus on hunting Bin-Laden and the Taliban. Something that we should have been doing since Day 1. Please stop with the "Obama has no plan" bit.

If we are attacked again the neo-con will use it as an excuse to invade Iran and maybe Jordon to protect us from the entire Muslim population. Leading us in to another box canyon and bankruptcy.

Thats news to me, The Post always was very liberal, I haven't read it in about 2-3 years.

I'll talk about what I want.
Oh and Obamas gonna hunt for Bin Laden in Afghanistan?
How nice.
