Obama supports building a mosque at ground zero

oh i gotta get out of this thread because the story is bullshit anyway.

ok then, ranging from the constitutionality to the moral dilemmas of building the mosque. .
so constitutionally my comparison doesn't apply because its in a country other than the usa and theres a different constitution blah bla blah.
but morally , i believe that is universal.

my only point is that its understandable for people not to like it just as in my example it would be understandable for jews not to like the German Oktoberfest Super Funtime Zone and BBQ.

I kinda agree.
but does that mean that a german company can build a German Oktoberfest Super Funtime Zone and BBQ on the site of the Auschwitz prison camp?
if not would that be considered intolerance and political inconvenience and a slap in the face to every person too?

Not on the Auschwitz site but two blocks away would be fine. For the 100th time, the cultural center, it's actually not a mosque but people call it one anyway, is not on the site of ground zero.

And for the 100th time I couldn't give a flying shit. "Cultural center":1orglaugh

No it's not right on GZ but it's close enough that it rubs salt in an open wound.

Now if only the empathy challenged could grasp that.

it only rubs salt in the wounds of those who let it. You let a mosque worry you just because of its geographical relativity to an event that happened nearly a decade ago?

why not feel upset over the thousands of mosques (and for that matter ALL churches) around the nation? I mean seriously the haters of this are SOOO ignorant.

Have you even checked to see how many freakin mosques there already are in New YorK (pretty damn close to GZ already). You only worry now because THIS one made the headlines...so seriously take a look at this map, and tell me why you care so much about this new mosque and none of the other Islamic Centers or mosques that already exist...PLEASE explain ...

To clarify and prove for the crazy people...

Oh, I am certainly aware and sensitive to that fact. I guess I probably overstated my sentiment, but I just thought that at some point, we need to move on. And this is IMO a step in that direction....moving on.

It's like being bitter over Pearl Harbor still, makes no sense to do so. We remember it, we honor those involved but we dont punish and resent Japanese people still ... We shouldn't persecute Islamics either. They not responsible for it directly they were associated with it, so what good does it do to sulk over it ?

Why dont the muslims erect a Tower of Tolerance in Mecca? Why do we have to bend over backwards for these people!!!
Mecca is not a place where intolerance resulted into terrorism and caused 5.000 people killed.

Do you really need them to buildf such a tower to accept building this mosque ? Do you really wanna treat them no better than they treat you ?
So why don't you hold a muslim family hostage and ask for 20.000.000 bucks payed by Al Qaïda other wise you kill them all ?

:1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh:1orglaugh I gotta laugh at this because it is steeped way to deep in ignorance to be serious. Its laced in so much far right rhetoric that I believe that the left side of my brain just went dead. I can understand how Jackson and Farrakhan could be considered disgraceful, but Oprah? She is the most influential woman on the planet and embodies what a capitalistic society is all about. Even if you are born dirt poor if you work hard you can succeed. Sounds to me like you just wanted to rant on all of the black leftists to further some sort of hateful agenda you have. You toss around the word "ghetto" so much that I don't think that you even know what it means. What about all of the white ones like Micheal Moore, Bill Maher, and Keith Olberman? Some of those guys *cough* Moore *cough* have done far more damage than anyone else.

Listen before calling me ignorant, first look at who is in your avatar, a damn communist of the name of Kim Il Jong, it says more or less of what kind of political regime you support. So if you like North Korea so damn much, why don't you leave it America if it is your country and that you hate it so much? America, leave it or love it. I don't expect much from someone who is always cataloguing his political opponents as far right when it is not the case nor trying to reason what are behind the arguments of his opponents in question. So before cataloguing or stickering someone to a political party make sure you know your facts.
Donald Trump is far more inflencal that this damn TV host of Oprah, he has 30 sky scrappers with his name on them, he is also the spokesperson of ACN, the biggest firm regarding telephony services and financially he weights much more than oprah. My agenda is not hateful, the people who supported Obama were racists against whites and are communautarists, just face it. Racism against whites exists but you avoid to mention it because for you the whites in the USA are to blame for the misery of the others. :nono: This is complete utter bullshit. I know what the word ghetto means and I have been in places like the Bronx, Harlem, the Queens, Flint and Lansing as well as in French ghettos like St Denis,La Courneuve, Les Mureaux, La Cité des Indes et la Goutte d'Or, so don't try to lecture me on the notion nor the definition of ghetto. Michael Moore is a fat pig, Keith Olberman and Bill Maher are just big obnoxious loud mouths who just rant and more or less try to embody the anger of the Americans disappointed by a beyond shitty administration.

In Europe, in most of the cases, the people who vote for socialists/leftists are mainly the poor, the ones living in trashy/scummy suburbs or lazy unwilling too work social healthcare leech offs and parasites. Those were the very same persons who supported Obama during his victory.

It looks like you missed this the last time so I'll post it again......

You're aware that 70 million americans voted for Obama, yes?

That's an awful lot of "ghetto crowd fanboys", especially considering only 12.5% of the voting populace is black. At minimum 61 million non-black voters voted for Obama.

Furthermore Obama defeated McCain 52% to 48% among the nations highest income earners.

He also defeated McCain among voters of every educational level from high school grads on up. Among those with post-graduate degrees (17% of the voting population) he crushed McCain 59% to 41.

So as you can clearly see there is nothing to substantiate the claim Obama was elected by, nor is the servant of, "ghetto trash".

Also he enthusiastically supported TARP, the bailout for several of our largest, most powerful capitalist concerns. That big BIG money went to big business and Wall Street, not to the "ghetto crowd".

PS: Social security has been around for 75 years.

Easy there, bodie!! A whole lot of folks here don't take too kindly to facts!

larss

I'm watching some specialist videos
Here's the thing though, terrorists have been going about their business long before 9/11. They're not all Muslim.
No - a whole load of the them for a number of years were Irish Catholic funded by a number of the good people of New York to kill and bomb English people (and anyone else who happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time). And these Irish terrorists terrorised in the name of both Ireland and Catholicism.

This whole entire "mosque at Ground Zero" bullshit is nothing but an unwarranted smear campaign that is being fully orchestrated by the main stream media. Their "facts" are so incorrect and they know it - but they still continue to push on with their horseshit, fear-based media blitz.

First of all, it's not just a mosque; it's more a community center. Secondly, it's not going to be built on Ground Zero.

and thirdly, Obama did not support it, he did not condemn it - not the same thing.

No it's the same mentality. Btw I said it and stand by it.
The "something German" would be a monument to the SS which would be grossly offensive just like a muslim center two blocks from GZ.
I haven't forgotten what was done in the name of islam on 9/11.
See above on Irish terrorists and Catholicism

True, but since 95% of all terrorists ARE muslims, your argument rings hollow. It would be different if the 95% of all muslims who claim to be peace loving were condemning the 911 attacks and crying out publicly that " terrorism is not what our religion is about", but you never hear that from them at all. The silence is absolutely deafening.
Where do you get the 95% figure?

The Title of this thread is somewhat misleading in that it should say something like "Obama does not condemn the building of a Muslim community centre a couple of blocks from where some misguided religious fanatics flew aeroplanes into the World Trade Centre".

Muslims were victims of 9/11 too : http://islam.about.com/blvictims.htm

One of the greatest advocates of freedom in America and a hero to many in the country was a fellow called Malcom X. A devout Muslim - to quote from Wiki "Malcolm X became a Sunni Muslim and made a pilgrimage to Mecca, after which he disavowed racism. He traveled extensively throughout Africa and the Middle East. He founded Muslim Mosque, Inc., a religious organization, and the secular, Pan-Africanist, Organization of Afro-American Unity"

So you can tell someone's political affiliation just by the type of avatar they chose? That is quite a skill you have there. Perhaps you should team up with Chris Angel. Better yet, why not go make a guest appearance on Penn & Teller's show. What was it called? Oh I remember now, BULLSHIT. I have this avatar because I think it is funny. Also you think just because Donald Trump has more money than Oprah that automatically makes her shameful? Seriously? I don't follow the logic here. The woman is still a billionaire and has more money and influence than either you or I will ever have. By this logic, 99% of the country should feel shameful too because they make less money than Oprah. So your argument there is what we in this country call an Epic Failure.

I never said that racism against whites doesn't exist. What gets me the most about it is the fact that some of you guys are generally in shock whenever you discover it. You revert to this "Oh what did I ever do?" naive mentality that just makes me:facepalm:

I also hate to burst your bubble(actually i am quite enjoying doing so) but how the hell can everyone who voted for Obama be racist against whites when well educated white Americans were the ones who put him there? He got more of the white vote than Kerry did when he ran and about the same as Clinton did. Historically speaking for the last 50 years or so, the minority vote particularly the black one has sided overwhelmingly with the democrats. When there is an election you can guarantee that atleast 80% of the black vote is going to the left. You can thank Richard Nixon for that.

I have no legal justification.
Thank you. Case closed.
I wish I did. What I do have is common sense.
Since "common sense" is different things to different people we have laws...the law says these Americans have the legal right to build their multifaceted center in NY just as much as any other religious group with proper legal jurisdiction
Something these people apparently do not have.
I also have decency and empathy which they seem to lack otherwise they wouldn't be building that flop-house.
They at least have the decency and empathy to finally build some memorial to 9/11 in proximity to the site....apparently something the rest of the boobs whining about this do not have.
This Cordoba thing will be a propaganda tool used by the jihadists world wide. The sad thing is that some non muslims offered it to them on a silver plate.

The Islamists(note the word) will never love you no matter how much brown nosing you do, no matter how many drum circles you make, no matter how many flowers you throw at their feet. They only understand strength through power. Sad but true.

What are you talking about? I'm not trying to get anyone to :lovecoupl me. A value and more importantly a right in our country is religious freedom. Even freedom of thought...so even if a group totally devoted to hatred and injustice wanted to march, protest or build something ....as long as they violate no law or actually act out their beliefs..they have the right. That is something a tolerant, free society would just have to grin and bear. Sad but true.

Were I you..I'd plan a pilgrimage to the Simon Wiesenthal Center and take a refresher's course on why hate and intolerance toward a whole group of people based on the deeds of a few bad apples isn't a good thing.:2 cents:

I'm not a conservative.

I'm not a douchebag leftist either.

Militant, radical zionist then?:dunno:

No it's not right on GZ but it's close enough that it rubs salt in an open wound.

Now if only the empathy challenged could grasp that.

Mamilla Cemetery? BTW, why is the Wiesenthal Center in the US?

We didn't have Nazis who oppressed Jews here.
