Obama supports building a mosque at ground zero

Islamism is created through and by ISLAM. ISLAM is the first and foremost cause to ISLAMISM. The basic condition to be an ISLAMIST (Takfirist/Salafist/Jihaddi etc) is to be MUSLIM.
Muslims cannot benefit from the eradication of ISLAMISM, since that would mean they would loose their delusions on the world they try to bend according to both their faith and their material situation. An ISLAMIST is first and foremost a religious zealot, in other words a Good Muslim. Relativism is not a concept of Islam, Islam cannot tolerate a relativist following. Muslims have been "tamed" by rigourous battles and decisive defeats (just like any other global cult).
In other words people, ISLAM since the 13th/14th AD has lost all grip on the world's matters. Since then it's been a long nose dive from their peak both culturally and socially.

The Islamic world needs a revolution badly, but they lack both a doctrine and an "avant-garde".

"Nuff said.

Unless that person happens to be Islamic already, you mean? What about apostasy in Islam?

a·pos·ta·sy   [uh-pos-tuh-see]
–noun, plural -sies.
a total desertion of or departure from one's religion.

Sounds pretty peaceful and non-violent to me (where's the "sarcasm" smiley?). If this is the punishment for Muslims trying to leave the Islamic faith, I really have a hard time buying into the whole "religion of peace," "Muslims seek peace with those around them," bit.

Those are not facts, and most of it is blatantly and demonstrably untrue to anyone who has laid eyes on the Koran or the other holy books of Islam, or a history book for that matter. Sorry.

Your friend is probably practicing what some call "Islam Lite" or he does not take the Koran as the word of God, because if you do believe the Koran is the word of God and must be followed, then tolerance of unbelievers is not tolerated unless they submit and become a second class citizen under the rule of a Muslim government and society.

And furthermore, most people fail to understand that Islam was not meant to be a "personal religion" first, it was a governmental/societal/philosophical system first, and the personal religious/morality side second, but it's all inter-twined.

Man, you guys are good! Lets see what kind of half baked horseshit gets thrown back.:hatsoff:

You could, you know, respond to them instead of using "half baked" over and over again. Just sayin'.

Man, you guys are good!

No they're not good, they're just scared, which is exactly what Osama and his ilk want them to be.
Frightened people are irrational people.
Frightened people are highly malleable.
The only hope a pipsqueak like Bin Laden had of winning his personal and philosophical war against western society was to instill it with fear, and thereby divisiveness, such that it would surrender its principles, and thereby self-destruct.
To date he has succeeded masterfully, which should righteously piss ALL of us off.
The question is, are we going to continue to facilitate his wet dream, or are we going to get a grip and conduct ourselves like the nation we claim to be?

So your replying to the three posts I replied to by replying to me?

Who said anyone was scared? They didn't sound scared to me, they sounded like people giving educated information about something I'm intimately aware of.

This is actually getting boring saying the same shit over and over.

Have any of you ever read the bible? It's full of violence, racism and murder and according to the word of god entire cities should be destroyed and everyone in it should be slaughtered if they don't believe in him. God as described in the bible is malicious, violent, vindictive, petty, jealous and a hypocrit. Now most Christians don't literally follow what it says in the bible just like most Muslims don't literally follow what it says in the Quran. The only difference is that when talking about Islam fear and prejudice come into play.

As to my friend, you're totally wrong. He's a devout Muslim and he's one of the kindest, hardworking, honest and brave men you could ever meet. His faith is what makes him who he is and even tho I'm not a believer he loves me nonetheless and he's been a big influence in my life. He even spoke @ my wedding. Now how about that, a devout Imam wishing a lesbian couple long life and happiness ;)

Several Christians do actually literally follow what it says in the Bible, but when you say Bible, you're conveniently referring to the Old Testament, which made way for the New Testament, which is the version of the Bible most commonly followed today, and contains no calls to violence.

Consider this:
...Such observations confuse history and theology by conflating the temporal actions of men with what are understood to be the immutable words of God. The fundamental error is that Judeo-Christian history—which is violent—is being conflated with Islamic theology—which commands violence.

Old Testament violence is an interesting case in point. It revolved around a specific time and place and was directed against a specific people. At no time did such violence go on to become standardized or codified into Jewish law. In short, biblical accounts of violence are descriptive, not prescriptive.

This is where Islamic violence is unique. Though similar to the violence of the Old Testament—certain aspects of Islamic violence and intolerance have become standardized in Islamic law and apply at all times. Thus, while the violence found in the Qur'an has a historical context, its ultimate significance is theological. Consider the following Qur'anic verses, better known as the "sword-verses":

"Then, when the sacred months are drawn away, slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them, and confine them, and lie in wait for them at every place of ambush. But if they repent, and perform the prayer, and pay the alms, then let them go their way."

"Fight those who believe not in God and the Last Day, and do not forbid what God and His Messenger have forbidden – such men as practise not the religion of truth, being of those who have been given the Book – until they pay the tribute out of hand and have been humbled."

In fact, based on the sword-verses as well as countless other Qur'anic verses and oral traditions attributed to Muhammad, Islam's learned officials, sheikhs, muftis, and imams throughout the ages have all reached consensus—binding on the entire Muslim community—that Islam is to be at perpetual war with the non-Muslim world until the former subsumes the latter.

In the Muslim community, the holy war [jihad] is a religious duty, because of the universalism of the Muslim mission and the obligation to convert everybody to Islam either by persuasion or by force ... The other religious groups did not have a universal mission, and the holy war was not a religious duty for them, save only for purposes of defense ... They are merely required to establish their religion among their own people. That is why the Israelites after Moses and Joshua remained unconcerned with royal authority [e.g., a caliphate]. Their only concern was to establish their religion [not spread it to the nations] … But Islam is under obligation to gain power over other nations.

Modern authorities agree. The Encyclopaedia of Islam's entry for "jihad" by Emile Tyan states that the "spread of Islam by arms is a religious duty upon Muslims in general … Jihad must continue to be done until the whole world is under the rule of Islam … Islam must completely be made over before the doctrine of jihad [warfare to spread Islam] can be eliminated." Iraqi jurist Majid Khaduri (1909-2007), after defining jihad as warfare, writes that "jihad … is regarded by all jurists, with almost no exception, as a collective obligation of the whole Muslim community."

Oh for God/Allah/Moneys sake, can we PLEASE just call an end to this thread? These three religions are all Abrahamic, so lets just drop it, ok?

By the way, my grandfather kept his old bible from school, translated, it reads:
And then Jesus said "bring the unbeliever unto me so that I may strangle him".
So enough with this BS, ok?
*leaves thread permanently*

Technically true. Yet, unlike Judaism and Christianity, which each have complex origins and no single founder, Islam originated in the teachings of a single individual, the prophet Muhammad. These teachings were presented as, and are still regarded by Muslims as, the direct revelation and words of God, replacing the earlier revelations of the Jewish and Christian scriptures.

By the way, my grandfather kept his old bible from school, translated, it reads:

At least Jesus was willing to do his own dirty work, and not commanding his followers to kill every non-believer.

Islam is peaceful.................if everyone is muslim.

Tell that to the Sunnis and Shias at each others throats.
Not to mention telling that to the Islamic Al quaeda who decided to oppress the Islamic sufi mystics for the sin of... wait for it... dancing.

Just like Cathlocs and protestants eh, why can't we all just get along?

No those are sects. I realize they go after one another. I'm speaking about the overall theology.
