I think the economy will be Obamas Iraq and he will be a one termer.
However the people on the recieving end will continue to vote for him so I guess the question is do they have the numbers?

The truth is, nobody hopes Obama fails; but many of us are rooting for America’s survival as a free and prosperous nation and that means blocking Obama’s agenda everywhere we can.

We've covered this ground before.If you get hold of the assumption that Socialism is wrong then by association everything with a socialist theme has to be wrong as well.Now Socialism is a pretty poor way to run an economy (though the Swedes might argue) but it's a pretty good source of ideas to make life better for people.Free market capitalism delivers the goods but if left to run unchecked leads to all sorts of problems.The ideal mix for a prosperous and civilised country is to let capitalism provide the engine of wealth creation and use socialist ideas to use some of this wealth to make the country better to live in.
I have always voted against Socialist parties but this doesn't blind me to the fact that some things are best done collectively. I don't want the armed forces or the police to be privately owned , answering to their shareholders first.I like our national health care (and even the most rabid right winger here won't speak against it in principle)..........in the end you have to be pragmatic and decide to go for what actually (as opposed to dogmatically) works.

Poor Repulicans. They just keep hammering away with the one trick pony that got Bush his pre-emptive war in Iraq and his second term, despite the fact it failed to get the job done last November. Try as they did (and Lord how they tried) to win the election with fearsome anti-american, terrorist-associate, pro-islamist smears, this time they failed resoundingly; but clearly many (most?) of them are still wedded to that strategy. For some, even some of those highest up, it seems to be about all they've got.

In this bill in order to purchase a firearm you must have a license to own a firearm. Nice way for the government to keep tabs on what the American people currently own so when they come in the middle of the night to take them they can come in with an appropriate tactical plan.

The government... telling you that you can't take of yourself, so we'll dictate your life for you.

The corporation, the entity that made whores out of Republicans, has destroyed Capitalism. Republicans need to look inward for blame. And they need to step aside while "grown ups" make *important* decisions to save the country from mass breadlines, neighbor on neighbor theft and rich vs poor open war.

If Republicans continue to stand in the way and obstruct and bitch and moan...than they risk confirming Marx's belief that Capitalism is basically nothing more than a step along the path of humanity toward Communism (Socialism).
