Supa, don't get sucked into Johan's gun shit. That video was absolute nonsense. 89 guns per 100 people in USA? Where are they? Are you suggesting that there are almost as many guns owned as cars on the road? You want to do simple math? 0 guns = 0 gun deaths. 0 people also = 0 gun deaths.

I have been thinking about the USA in terms off its universal view on its role and a lot of issues. By now, regarding weapons, my impression is:

Talking to US citizens about their relationship to gun control is a lot like talking to an active alcoholic about him handling his booze.

I do try to not respond to every little thing that comes up in this section, But when I sit transfixed, rereading and rereading...well, the result is inevitable.

What exactly is our "universal view on our role"? And while we're here, what is Germany's "universal view of it's role"?

And talking to Europeans about gun control is like talking to people who choose to forget their own histories and collective history.

By the same token I can say the same thing about alcohol laws in Germany and France. That's a part of your culture and carries it's own set of problems.

Question, how do you define a "no-go zone"?

According to Fox News, no go zones are reas on a country that are off-limits to non-muslims, in which the country'd soveignty doesn't apply, police don't go, etc.

Since you are a Jersey boy, what would be the over and under on my survival if I brought my white ass into Camden?

As long as they know you are a lawyer, you'll fit right in with the rest of the scum. The state took it over years ago after widespread corruption and some progress was made. You can now stop at red lights during the day and not worry too much. I love NJ but we are full of shitholes like Newark, Asbury Park, AC, Trenton. Even once respectable shore places like Long Branch and Seaside Heights have gangs now. Lots of trash down there.

So I take it that you would still prefer that your daughter take the 300 G's you saved for her college fund and move to L.A. and pursue a career in porn than go to law school. :)

You see? Try wiping the issue off the table because someone else has some problems with something else makes it less of an issue?

You prove my point, Bob.

Following neighborhoods you want to avoid in Chicago @ night:

Bronzeville, Austin, Humboldt Park, Chatham, Grand Crossing, Greater Grand Crossing, Gresham, Logan Square, Pullman, and Englewood.

The Ballard neighborhood in Seattle. Those Scandinavians ain't to be fucked with, particularly the Sons of Norway Leif Ericson Lodge and the Norwegian Ladies Chorus of Seattle.

Uff da.

Cabrini Green

Was torn down 15 years ago. Mix income was replaced. The city needed to redo that part as it is a sub area for out of town sCrUBS fans hang out on the near north side.

Chicago murder rate escalated because of the tearing down of the high rise projects. It shifted the three big gangs into some of the neighborhoods on the south side and near west side along the Eisenhower as you cross Western Av to The Loop.

GDs control Cabrini Green in the north. Vice Lords controlled Rockwell Gardens in the west. The PStone Rangers controlled the Ida Wells and Robert Taylor on the south. After they were torn down they all started to battle for new turf. But if drive down MLK past the 30's with The Cell to west off the Dan Ryan (The N word 500 local name) to Washington Park you will see the former footprint undeveloped land when the Ida Wells and Robert Taylor were.

Austin, Logan Square, and Humboldt Park are hot spots with the Latin Kings and Maniac Latin Disciples With other no names.

I grew up in D.C. In the mid 80's most of the city except around the mall was a no go zone. Someone put up a sign leaving D.C. and entering Maryland stating You are now leaving D.C. Sorry we missed you.

No, you don't, do you? These are all countries where the unarmed, civilian populace was/is absolutely brutalized by anyone with a gun that came/comes along. These are countries where being defenseless is the number one cause of death. These countries put the absolute lie to America being the only country where gun related atrocities happen.

No one is suggesting that America is the only country where this happens. But your choice of countries you compared America with is confusing.

All the countries you mentioned are/have been involved in bloody and brutal civil wars and all within living memory. Are you seriously suggesting that living in America is akin to living in Syria??

When I think of a no-go zone I think of parts of war torn Somali or some of the remote tribal areas of Afghanistan and Pakistan. To me a no-go zone is an area where the government and law enforcement have absolutely no control over, an autonomous area that law enforcement would never venture into. What some of you guys are describing are simply unsavory neighborhoods, not no-go zones

Yes they are. They suggest this all the time. They suggest it on this board and all across the interweb.

I explained the rationale for the comparison quite well.

Again, I did a very good job stating my thoughts on the matter. A psycho walks into a preschool with a gun because he knows no one else will have one. Assad and other dictators keep their populace unarmed because it's the easiest way to be a despot. Boko Haram massacres entire villages and enslaves children because the populace is unarmed. Mexican drug cartels murder by the dozens because the populace is unarmed. Hell, Britain made Scotland a vassal state by keeping the populace unarmed. The monarchies of Europe and Asia treated their populations as serfs by keeping them powerless. Medieval Japan was quite clear on the subject: no one below the rank of samurai is allowed any arms for fear of revolt.

America's Founding Fathers formed the Bill of Rights specifically based on how Europe ran itself. And the 2nd thing they thought up was the Right to Keep and Bear Arms.

Hang out then at night on some I mention in Chicago. It's not the gang banger that will fuck you up but some stick up kid. Trust me.

Well OK, Mr. Dissatisfied. You're just a few hours away. Hop in the car and head for Mogadishu, Illin.....I mean E. St Louis, Illinois. In the 15 minutes you have left, take note of the slathers of law enforcement and government control.
