Though I'm sure most of you will read this in the round 3 thread, here is Petra's explanation concerning what happened with the voting on the 28th (yesterday):

I apologize to both voters and the contestants for the interruption in the voting. It seems that there was some miscommunication between two of our tech guys about some database changes. Since their updates wern't finished, it affected everything the database controls and the actual votes were part of it.

No votes were counted for any contestant since at least 3pm GMT +1 (that's when I last voted and things were fine) or 9am EST until now, but all previous votes are perfectly fine and safe. This error didn't delete anything, it just prevented the database from getting the needed info to record further votes.

As for the total vote count going wonky...that's also due to the database error as that table is also on the database.

Because of this unforseen technical error that cropped up, we will extend the contest until January 2nd at midnight so everyone gets the votes that they would have gotten in the past 12-18 hours.

Again, I apologize for the trouble this caused. If it makes you feel better, you can whip me. Or give Miss Hybrid the whip and just watch the show.

Actually, rane, I had not heard an owl reference before, so no harm done. Some others, but no owls.
Jbs, thanks for staying on top of this. It looks like from the time I noticed I could not vote, until time you and Petra posted voting was fixed was about 15 hours. :(
However, I have voted this morning and everything was working fine, and got my vote in for Nikki. :)

Looks like I would of lost that bet then .. but props for giving us the heads up about the voting (I hadn't noticed). :hatsoff: The main thing is we can vote for Nikki again.

In response to your 2 questions, the answer to the 1st is complicated. If you read some of my previous posts in this thread (the one earlier on this page in particular), you'll get a pretty good picture for me. I've liked Nikki for a little over a month now.....and I would like to think she is a friend. "Nikki Nova" is a very beautiful (inside and out), intelligent, and special woman! The FACT that she's also HOTT is merely a BONUS!

The answer to your 2nd question is good genes, healthy eating, and healthy living! One could say simply that "Nikki Nova" is God's gift to the world!!! And if God doesn't exist......then we are simply just pretty damned lucky to be graced with her presence! "Nikki Nova" is genuinely a wonderful person who transcends beauty! I'd say if you are fixated with "Nikki Nova's" outward beauty (not that there is anything wrong with that), you are actually missing out on just what a BEAUTIFUL woman she REALLY is!

If that is the case, Nikki is a GREAT down payment.....but, based upon my observations, "he's" got a LONG ways to go!!!! If Sarah Palin gets elected President....."he'll" never get caught up! On the bright side, if Palin were elected in 2012, the world will come to an end (December 21, 2012) before she would take office in January, 2013! Ha ha ha!

For the record, I don't believe the end of the world bs! Hell, even the Myans (yes they still exist) don't believe it....and it's their calendar (it's only the end of a cycle)! But, if Palin is elected in 2012......I'll be torn between wondering & hoping! Ha ha ha!

Forgot to say "good morning" to everyone! Hell I slept until 2:30 pm today (which is REALLY unusual for me), so it still feels like morning to me!

i dont think you need to worry about palin being president, its NEVER going to happen. theres too many people that hate her. plus itd be a REALLY stupid thing for her to do. itd probably hurt her with the lose and once again demonstrating how dumb she is, plus she probably doesnt even really want the job, just the prestige. the smartest thing she could do is just stick around foxnews and be a fundraiser, then she can play the role of kingmaker and rake in the dough.

as for the mayans, im pretty sure the 2012 date was not only not the end of the world, but also a miscalculation of the cycles end. the whole thing is complete utter crap.

i dont see how theres any doubt that Nikki was personally handcrafted by the hands of the divine. god said let there be hotness and there she was. and she was GOOD
