Maybe it's time for people in the US to use different construction materials for your homes. Winds and rains are definitely a hassle if you constantly build and rebuild. Waste of money if you can't retrieve your materials.

I was easier to spot in the first chat i was in months ago, when i was able to rename myself from my account sign in name (mjk2011) to OzzieOz prior to the webcam chat link loaded. You were as surprised to see me back then, as you are in your post . As i mentioned when i initially signed up back in May, i felt compelled to do it as a way to show support for you - i don't think me dressing up in frilly clothing with pom poms is such a good idea.... (bad attempt at a joke :noway

I was going to bring up who i was in the chat and say hi properly, didn't want to derail the discussion since i hopped on mid way through.

And she can be a mean and vengeful bitch when she wants to be...that's definitely for sure! Thankfully she wasn't too mean to me this time around anyway.....and, since jitna mentioned this earlier, it looks like Katia will stay out at sea....and not actually make landfall on the eastern U.S. (who SOOOOO DEFINITELY do not need another one) so I guess I need to cut her some slack...but still! Ugh! As you more than well know, people are still recovering from Irene, and now Lee will be bringing many of them some UNNEEDED rain (but not the wind anyway....so that's a plus anyway). The fact remains, as invincible as humankind might think it is, and as many technologically advanced as we think we are, we are still held at the mercy of Mother Nature.....and there is basically no getting around that fact.

Yes my grandparents survived thanks ot the help of my favorite aint but they were stranded without power, phone, water or gas ( gas stations wouldn't pumo gas due to no power and the same with water) so that was keeping me very worried. They are nearly 90 and in very poor health and if they need help they couldn'y get it. The road were bocled by downed trees. No power in August for the elderly and infants is dangerous. My favorite cousins baby for example. Their backyard now has a 4 ft pond in it that wasn't there before. Other friends had roofs ripped off and houses flooded etc. Others ended up with boats in their backyards pointing up to the sky. I'm talking about friend that don't live on the water and they have no idea who's boat it is but it came through their fence and is stuck in the mud pointed up to the sky now. I had another friend have a tree land on her house. A big tree. Thank you for asking about my family. My grandparents, my favorite aunt and my favorite cousins are the most important people in the world to me. Some are still without power.The storm may have passed but the shit from it is not over for those who experienced it. Not by a long shot.

To back up your point: see all the damage the earthquake and tsunami made in japanese cities like Sendai, despite they had walls, bridges, buildings and even houses made of concrete... So, you're right: Mother Nature is a strong ass lady...

As scary as this sounds, on occasion I have watched & do watch some shows from the BBC...and I've actually heard that expression before (never used it though....ha ha ha). As I'm sure you're aware and figured out already....it's basically a cute way of saying goodbye (and kind of ribbing the upper crust at the same time). So, yep, believe it or not, it's a real expression that our good friend Dazza just happened to use in an effort to brighten our day.....and it would so appear that he succeeded (as usual)!
